ORIGINAL: LuckyAlbatross ....you use the word "domme." I hate that word and anyone who uses it I would immediately put into my "not interested" pile. Maybe it seems silly to you, but it's not to me and since I'm the one who gets to decide, then that's what happens. Interesting. I'm curious as to what term could be substituted that would not land someone in the 'not interested' pile?... I ask because, honestly, the more I search here and learn, the more confused I seem to become... Sorry for the mini hijack. Dominatrix, domina, femdom…I prefer domina as a descriptive term, but for addressing me, well, the answer is at the bottom of my profile. And back on topic, I appreciate the OP's position. Certainly I expect to meet my own standards, although I have no issue with writing in the vernacular. (Go figure.) What I hate is the grammar & spelling abuse that grew out of chat-speak and text-speak. Any sub who tells me "i think u r da bomb" won't be telling me anything else, 'cause he'll be blocked. Once again, the answer is in my profile (are you paying attention, class?). Among other things, it specifically states that I am a writer. And if that isn't enough of a clue to folks that I expect communication in reasonable English (within the other party's best ability). Hell, I don't even hold with lower-case-speak (i/I you/You)! Such things were useful in the past, but only for online role play. Me, I play in real life. And I don't do fantasy role play. Lady Delilah Deb P.s. I hosted professional on AOL in the early 1990s, for hours at a time, using a 1200 and then 2400 baud acoustic modem, and I used capital letters according to English grammar throughout. Best efforts count.
