Welcome back to the active posters, it will be good not to have to wait anymore to read your responses.

That's about what this boils down to, all of the hype prior to the World Cup, every 4 years we go through the pagentry and pandering.  The really sad part is that there will probably be more votes cast in this past season of American Idol, than there will be in the Presidential election.

Okay - what is it with everyone coming on stage to their own music?

"Come Together" by the Beatles when Senator Pelosi came on stage to speak! That's my Senator rising up old Timothy Leary campaign music. He was arrested soon afterward.
Wow - First elevator Muzak Beatles, then Cirque du Soleil Beatles; now politician walk on Beatles!

How about a prize for anyone who predicts what music President Clinton will have for his walk on?

You should have put a link on that - GREAT selection, but lost to most.

Perhaps "The Thong Song" ... then again it could be anything from http://www.fluffertrax.com/

Oh, how about this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZzBrxj-Gjo

Nah, if you want to go retro do this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BXvHRnGe940&feature=related

Save "Shaft" for Obama's coronation.

gina0055 -> RE: Okay, WHO besides me will be watching some of the DNC? (8/27/2008 2:52:37 PM)

I'm watching.
A lot of symbolic gestures which I'm sure will be repeated on the RNC stage when they nominate McBush.
Difference for me is Obama is my choice.
Highlights so far, for me: listening to Dennis Kucinich (who would have been my ideal Presidential candidate), seeing Ted Kennedy speak, Michelle Obama and the kids, and watching the nomination of Obama by Michael Wilson, a lifelong R and Iraqui vet.
Roll call upcoming.

Save "Shaft" for Obama's coronation.

Without a doubt if we stick to the Beatles theme Senator Obama's theme song:
Taxman!

Okay, the mouthpiece that is handling the roll call, almost made me choke with her last statement.  "Guam, Could you repeat your votes please, we democrats like to make sure all votes are counted equally..."

bipolarber -> RE: Okay, WHO besides me will be watching some of the DNC? (8/27/2008 3:28:18 PM)

Personally, I can hardly wait for Bill's speech to be compared with that of Bush's at the RNC... (um, he IS giving a speech there, right? He and his administration haven't become that much of a pariah to the party yet?) Somehow, I'm betting that Bill's speech will have a few things that Bush's speech won't:

Complete sentances.
Properly pronounced words
Paragraphacal structure to his thoughts.
A theme.

In a word, it'll be "literate."

Literate like this?

Other "games?" Are there referees? Padding? Tight ends?

Thadius -> RE: Okay, WHO besides me will be watching some of the DNC? (8/27/2008 3:48:00 PM)

And the Hillary chants erupt again........

Sanity -> RE: Okay, WHO besides me will be watching some of the DNC? (8/27/2008 3:50:59 PM)

The Democrats got their "storybook ending" (according to the totally unbiased reporting on MSNBC).

And a goal as well. [:D]

This was just the preface to the story.  I can't wait to watch and read the ending of it. [:D]

It was a magical moment, and I am glad I witnessed it.   I probably should have watched the MSNBC coverage, as it would have added to the experience.  I enjoy their balanced and unbiased reporting, it is very educational.

Keeping with "People all over the world..." theme; 'Love Train' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEUKW99ohuw  by the O'Jays was the song accompanying the unanimous by acclamation nomination of Senator Obama. I hear the Senator is beating Senator McCain in the polls 90% to 10% - in Germany.

What's up with only 10 minutes for President Clinton? How about this O'Jay's song for him? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MmJI036k-M&feature=related
