Whichever way you look at it, you must admit that we have come a long way since then.

I don't know if i really have Stella and it worries me terribly so....
i mean i still love being dragged around by my hair. Maybe i'm just not the best specimen of evolution.

Also just wanted to say that it's ALL PC in my humble opinion as long as it's not a 'power over' dynamic.

in stumbles another dinosaur.......

Honestly, I don't see it as "youth" or "age" issue.  But as everyone has made mention of how this has evolved, such as the internet and new technology bringing more people into it; I can't help but feel that some of the people have come into the "scene" seeing it as nothing more then a specator sport, coming to events to "cheer on their favorite team/Dominant/sub".

Some people may enjoy that atmosphere, and to them I say more power to you!  However, if you do not know the people involved within a scene,  common sense SHOULD prevail and a safe distance and respectful voice level be kept.  I have witnessed a scene where the Dominant was a "favorite Player" at the event and while throwing a single tail, startled by a "football cheer" causing the Dominant's eye to be diverted for a split second and thus putting the submissive in danger of potentially losing an eye.

Yes, playing in public isn't without risk and the potential of distraction.  A glass can get dropped causing a sudden noise, a chair knocked over.  But when someone stands, watching a scene deliberately shouting and creating a distraction, that is where a line is crossed.   A Dominant that plays in public should be able to focus on what They are doing, but They are only human.  To have to stop a scene because of behavior from random strangers is simply unacceptable.

As far as rules, yes the venue mentioned does indeed have rules regarding distracting/interferring with a scene.  But that did not stop people from walking up behind Me during My scene and causing a distraction and possibly endangering My slave.   The DMs are there for safety, but they shouldn't have to play Miss Manners.  If you are going to attend an event and are unsure about the rules, then it is your responsiblity to find out what is and isn't acceptable.

Since when is social protocal not in effect at any public event?   It's not that it's not in effect, it's that people are obviously choosing to ignore it, or feeling entitled to do as they please.

Call Me a dinosaur, but respect is respect and if your "kink" is endangering others because of your behavior, without their consent, then you've become a liablilty to those around you.  And yes, that includes "football cheers" from the "spectator kinkster".

Maybe I'm too old fashioned, but I always remember the 3Rs

R espect for self

R espect for others

R esponsiblity for ALL of your actions

If manners are old fashioned, then call Me proud to be a dinosaur!

My Master has some really strong opinions on this as he was bought into the lifestyle at a very young age (too young) but this means he was involved in a real BDSM community and learnt from another person practicing on real arses!

I didn't ...I found a picture of a woman tied up on the Internet and in the corner of the image was a website address. so I typed it in and BAM there was this whole world that opened up to me. So I looked for people that were involved in it ..talked to them ..exchanged info and learnt everything I could.

Got an Online Dom, did 3 years Online service with 2 real life meetings then I found my Master who I now live a 24/7 TPE with.

So I guess what I am saying is I went from living the PC fluffy way to living the old fashioned way ..I have done a bit of both.

I think both have excellent merits and bad disadvantages, and the way to move forward with either is to amalgimate them taking the best from both.

The old school had a small select following which meant millions all over the world never had the chance to find out about BDSM however they did have a lever of respect and positioning which has been greatly diluted with the invention of the Internet.

These days BDSM is available to all to learn about, new people discover it every day and less people are left lost in the vanilla world. However the way that most BDSM sites are set up encourage trolling and not communication and the anonymity a computer offers allows a lack of manners and respect, profile fakers and liars a free pass.

Everyone has a different opinion and in mine we need to all come together and share information more, how we got into this lifestyle, how we felt the first time we felt a paddle or wielded one. What motivates us? and why?

There is a HUGE BDSM following on line and it is now the most prolific recruitment of newbies. PC or old school I wish we would come together and share information properly before we loose the best bits of the old school, and the the new school are lost to or over ran by people looking for kinky on line masturbation material

I know of only one website which is different, which is why I advocate it in my signature.

With Respect
