See Bita's quote. That's accomplishment enough; the rest is piffle, as you know very well. See Palin.

Ven,

It was a good try, but as you can see, the extremist types will have none of it. My suggestion: we all just stay the hell away from the political sniping, if possible. (But I have the feeling that's going to be like trying to get a rabid dog to "lie down, and roll over.")

CL,

He comes from a single parent family whose mother worked and went to college while raising two children with the support of her parents.  He attended college on scholarships and grants at Occidental, Columbia and Harvard.  He became the editor at the Harvard Law Review  and graduated magna cum laude.

You can read more about his background, education and public service experience here or on his Web-site.

Precisely how does he embody accomplishment?

And this is why we should vote the man as President?  He went to college?

That is a separate question.  You asked why he is an example of the American Dream.

No, I asked how he embodied accomplishment.

And you have been told a dozen ways by a dozen people. You don't choose to digest it or process it fine but pleasssssseeee stop asking the same question when you don't want an answer. We currently have the biggest fucktard in history in the oval office and you need reasons to vote for Obama? He isn't Bush? How was that?

It's a matter of semantics here.  You have my answer and there are errands than need to be done this afternoon.  Be back on later.

Pretty piss poor, actually.

If you want to vote Obama because you despise George W. Bush, have at it.

Why go through this charade of puffing up the man as being the "embodiment of accomplishment" when all he's done is go to school on someone else's dime and run for office?

Because that's exactly what Arbusto did, and he won.  You thought it pretty fuckin' slick at the time, as I remember.

That alone would be an improvement. It's all Bush did except for bankrupting two wildcat oil companies, buying the Texas Rangers with weatlthy backers and building at taxpayers expense.

Oh. And stupidly invading two countries---which Obama opposed, and when it wasn't popular to do so.

Check this analysis out by Grassroots Mom:

"Before I get into the nitty gritty, let's all be honest here. It is damn hard to get anything through Congress these days."

I was blown away as I started going through his record. I've already mentioned his bills on health care and energy. In addition he had introduced bills on Iran, voting, veterans, global warming, campaign finance and lobbyists, Blackwater, global poverty, nuclear proliferation, and education.

And how many bills that Obama was the sponsor (not co-sponsor) actually made it all the way through the Senate?

Eight Obama bills have been passed by the Senate.  Four in each session of Congress.  Two of which proclaimed a "National Summer Learning Day."

Most of his stuff is still in the pipeline. I know he introduced more stuff than either Senator from my own state.

Also, what difference does it make if he is the sponsor or co-sponsor? I think its more important to see the positions a Senator takes.

I am not fond of folk who write a bunch of asswipe to torture my ass with laws.

Lets talk about voting records, because you see, no man is an island, and if you talk about accomplishments in the senate, the house, the state legislatures or even tying your kids shoes you are talking about multiple parties.

Kinda like America.  Not, what sort of lame shit did you present as a bill that you knew would never see the light of day, (god knows McCain has come up with crazy shit, Keating and so on.

But what did all you rodshiners get together and do, or didnt?
