i think the cell phone messages they were referring to was from the Holy Spirit.  From my knowledge of pentecostal, they get filled with the Holy Spirit and it spreads to others when they speak of it or show it physically.

Pssst... God doesn't need cell phones to talk to his peeps.

I hear he is more into things like bushes and such.

Kim

u missed what i was saying.  the cell phone thing was not messages from God.  they believed that the Holy Spirit was reaching through the cell phone calls.  have you not heard of the Holy Trinity?  The Father (God), The Son (Jesus) and The Holy Spirit.

Have you never watched a horror movie?

Most killers stalk their victims over the phone to begin with.

I would be careful about this Holy Spirit guy.

He sounds dangerous.

Getting cell phone messages from god?

Possible evidence that cell phones do cause brain damage?

i agree the concept with the cell phone was far fetched!   they really believed that if they called someone on their cell phone while they were filled with the Holy Spirit that they would pass the Holy Spirit through the cell phone.  so the statement about God talking to them on the cell phones was not right.  it was the Holy Spirit passing through the cell phone, which i found even crazier!

since i am obviously stupid and unable to properly state my position on the abortion issue...i found someone that i respect maybe he can help me a little bit!

Ron Paul on abortion:

http://www.ontheissues.org/TX/Ron_Paul_Abortion.htm

"A popular academic argument for abortion demands that we think of the child in the womb as a parasite.but the same argument justifies infanticide, since it applies just as well to an infant outside the womb.newborns require even more attention & care.
People ask an expectant mother how her baby is doing. They do not ask how her fetus is doing, or her blob of tissue, or her parasite. But that is what her baby becomes as soon as the child is declared to be unwanted.
The federal government should not play any role in the abortion issue, according to the Constitution. Apart from waiting forever for Supreme Court justices who rule in accordance with the Constitution, Americans do have some legislative recourse. Article III, Section 2 of the Constitution gives Congress the power to strip the federal courts of jurisdiction over a broad categories of cases.

Get the federal government out of abortion decision Q: If abortion becomes illegal and a woman obtains an abortion anyway, what should she be charged with? What about the doctor who performs the abortion?
A: The first thing we have to do is get the federal government out of it. We don't need a federal abortion police. That's the last thing that we need. There has to be a criminal penalty for the person that's committing that crime. And I think that is the abortionist. As for the punishment, I don't think that should be up to the president to decide.

So suffice it to say you wouldn't vote for a candidate that supported the death penalty, or who was opposed to stricter gun laws....right?

Marion001 -> RE: Palins church. (9/9/2008 5:23:27 PM)

Im scared of both of them, Palin and Obama. Its never good to be too anything...religious or not.

if i had my preference i rather the federal government not legislate, right.  give our rights back to the states, yes.

Bethnai -> RE: Palins church. (9/9/2008 5:34:16 PM)

So basically, your going to hide behind that?

bestbabync -> RE: Palins church. (9/9/2008 5:41:06 PM)

just a little more from Ron Paul

Nominate only judges who refuse to legislate from the bench
Q: Will you nominate only judges who are demonstrably faithful to the judicial role of following only the text of the Constitution, and who not only refuse to legislate from the bench, but are committed to reversing prior court decision where activist judges strayed from the judicial role and legislated from the bench?
  • HUCKABEE: Yes.
  • TANCREDO: Yes.
  • COX: Yes.
  • BROWNBACK: Yes.
  • PAUL: Yes.
  • HUNTER: Yes.
  • KEYES: Yes.

Roe vs. Wade is about the right to privacy, not about "failing to prevent an unwanted pregnancy and then murdering the child."

You could make a better case if you gave up the inflammatory language.  Seriously.

Cali

i was just trying to make a better case and stop using inflammatory language.  The constitution is not inflammatory.

Bethnai -> RE: Palins church. (9/9/2008 5:44:36 PM)

Why not just end the argument as Senator Obama did; "This is above my pay-grade". This is the represented position of the leader many of you want and support. Exudes confidence doesn't it?

No, I would much rather hear McCain say "I'll get back to you on that" for the next 4 years.

Does that inspire any more confidence for you?

So are you saying you support the death penalty on the state level? i am trying to get a clear picture here.  i'm not sure where the disconnect between "gasping babies", and sometimes "gasping innocent, or mentally ill or retarded person" happens.  If people think life begins at conception, where does it become less valuable...18?

Or the other way to look at that question... Why would a politician be for killing babies outside of the womb, but not support killing a serial murderer?[;)]
