Tempting as it is to leap in and rip the whassname, I find myself oddly in agreement with you, sort of ... on the one hand, this is a public forum, so people are free to say what they wish, within reason, and there’s also the fact that people have seen this sort of thing so many times, so compassion fatigue sets in, primarily as we all know what the likely cause is, but as you seem (from the posts of yours I’ve read) to be such a decent sort I’ll say yeah, ok, maybe people should try to help a little more and judge a little less.
To the OP: it doesn’t look good, but there may be a perfectly logical explanation – my net connection once died for days – have you another way of contacting him? All you can do is be patient, relax as much as possible, and wait, though I suggest going out and doing things, rather than waiting in and just worrying. If he gets in touch then you’ll get an explanation, and if he doesn’t then he was either an idiot or his courage failed him, and you don’t want to be involved with either sort of chap.
There: that’s my one “nice” post of the year. Took long enough to turn up, and reads as completely gaylord, but what the hell – spread a little happiness as you go by, etc etc
