Do you really want her cooking more than one thing at a time?

Aylee -> RE: Safety Message about Holly's Cooking (9/15/2008 1:07:13 PM)

You do NOT "cook" cornbread!  You BAKE cornbread!

*I worked at a bakery once.  Never ask, "What's cooking?"*

Thadius -> RE: Safety Message about Holly's Cooking (9/15/2008 1:17:18 PM)

Speaking of which, doesn't the words "cooking" and "baking" imply that there is some sort of control of the process at hand?  So would calling Holly's "food" preperations cooking or baking might be a misnomer.

Just saying.

The PA Fire Dept. calls the Clumsy One's efforts in the kitchen......JOB SECURITY.

scifi1133 -> RE: Safety Message about Holly's Cooking (9/15/2008 1:21:02 PM)

LMAO Well yes there is always that and since baking does in fact denote temp control it still might be a bad idea.

Aylee -> RE: Safety Message about Holly's Cooking (9/15/2008 1:37:03 PM)

My older sister once lit the banana bread she was baking in the oven on fire.  I am still not sure HOW she did that.  The TOP of the thing was on fire.

scifi1133 -> RE: Safety Message about Holly's Cooking (9/15/2008 1:38:56 PM)

Did you know that you can start fires in the microwave by microwaving grapes?

It is true.

beargonewild -> RE: Safety Message about Holly's Cooking (9/15/2008 1:45:17 PM)

Actually I watched it on this food facts show with Ted Allen.  I cannot recall the name of it of the top of my head.

scifi1133 -> RE: Safety Message about Holly's Cooking (9/15/2008 1:54:25 PM)

Exactly Bear. No grapes Holly.

DesFIP -> RE: Safety Message about Holly's Cooking (9/15/2008 2:20:31 PM)

Sheesh folks, you don't dry food in the microwave, you do it in the oven, on low, for a long time. Or better yet in the sun on an old (clean) window screen with a very thin cloth covering it. Bring in at night, out the next morning, and so on. No danger of fire.

scifi1133 -> RE: Safety Message about Holly's Cooking (9/15/2008 2:27:35 PM)

No Holly no drying them in the stove either...
