It does not matter what woman runs for the highest ranking office in the US.  They all will be attacked viciously because they are women. 
I would think that the National Organization of Women would have to be smarter and more qualifed than our fore fathers years ago.
You men get a lot of more opportunties than women.  
 
You old men are scared.  That is all it is.

I get paid equal to my male counterparts.

I happen to believe the "equal pay for equal work" strategy is all wrong, because I believe wholeheartedly in "salary commensurate with experience" 

If a woman as the SAME qualifications then of course she should get the same pay.  However, many who champion this philosophy (and I don't include you because I've yet to delve into this issue with you) simply believe that if a woman does the job, she should get the same pay, regardless of her previous experience and educational background. 

And as far as educational opportunities.... I'm hardpressed to think of a woman who cannot further her education.

i understand your concerns about McCain.  i have them too.  unfortunately this race as many others has come down to us having only the choice between the lesser of the 2 evils.  but at least there is a strong decent woman on the ticket.  no politician is perfect, that is for sure!  but Sarah being on the ticket gives me some hope.

i agree with you!  NOW never stood up for Governor Palin's rights as a woman.

BTW....guess which campaign pays women staffers more money? McCain's.

Obama is raking in $66 million dollars in August yet he cant find a way to pay women on his staff the same amount that men on his staff makes.

So if I were you....I would not count on Obama doing much for women in that area.

Even if there were, so what?

The problem with these groups is that they say one thing, do another.  Hence the reason many people are openly critical of NOW.

They call themselves the National Organization of Women, and they only step to the plate for women who think along the lines they do.  Well that's inherently hypocritical, and it is my belief that if you're going to champion yourself for women, it's got to be all women.  Their silence while Palin was raked over the coals, "oh can she be mom and VP?"  was very telling in what NOW is truly about.

I tend not to identify myself with groups like this, because I don't like the "pack mentality" in thinking.

I answered question number 2 in a seperate post.

As for the first question.... they were NEVER relevant to my life, because whereever I worked, I was paid based on my educational background and my abilities to do the job.  I didn't compare salaries because it's none of my business what they make, none of their business what I make.

As for my daughters, the sky is the limit for them.  They've been taught that with hard work they will be successful.  I see them moving into a world with MORE opportunities than even I had when I graduated high school in 1989.

We have been over this discussion in another thread weeks ago, perhaps you were not around for that one.
 
The site listing the salaries of the campaign staffers lists only the salary, not the pay scale nor the number or hours worked nor whether a person worked full or part-time or on several projects or one project.

You do realize that there has been plenty of Christian Republicans and Democrats as president?  Have they affected your sex life so far?  Or do you think that your sex life is probably affected more by your desire to use icy/hot as lube?

I wouldn't worry about it either way, neither candidate is going to outlaw sexual positions.  All though I wouldn't mind seeing some laws regarding certain folks being able to reproduce.[8|]

it just blows my mind that if a politician is a christian it is said he will legislate his religion on others, but if the politician is a jew, muslim, or a non-believer he is considered fair & objective.
