If they don't allow her to speak soon...all it will do is bring out questions about her ability....if they cancel the debate between her and Biden...she will become a non-factor. If she becomes a non-factor so will McCain.

Political reality aside from opinion is a bitch!

Wishful thinking isn't political reality either, Mark.  The segment of the party she is supposed to be locking down hates the media she won't talk to anyway, and there is still all of October in front of us.

Non-factor?  Maybe in the spin rooms where the Dem loss has already been determined to be all about racism.

she cannot continue NOT to speak....
If the Democrats lose I have never sen it as racism, it's theirs to lose. You would have to admit from either side a non-speaking Palin in time, will hurt McCain. She is the only reason he has enjoyed the success he has had. Prior to her, the right speaking pundits really had issues with McCain as did the "base". Facts are facts...To watch her ushered around as she has been this past week and not allowed to address what she thinks or what she has learned?....Looks as though they are afraid of what she will say. Seems odd at best....

But she IS speaking, Mark.  She's talking to big crowds, she's taking town hall questions, and doing interviews with the major players (or what pass for them).  What she isn't doing is bending over the for the press hacks to play 'gotcha.'  Frankly, the vicious attack shots she and her family have taken give her several weeks worth of pass on that.

Couric has been interviewing Palin - watch the first clip: it's illuminating. The woman's CLUELESS. She can't even bluff her way without stuttering. She doesn't even deliver her lines very well. Take her out of her comfort zone of having kids in Alaska and bridges to nowhere, and she is lost. Much like a moose would be in the Sahel (she probably has no idea where the Sahel is, incidentally).

This is why her party have been sheltering her away from the badass libewal media: she's a liability, and they know it, and they don't want the public to find out. But as they say: the truth always comes out.

PS: edit to add the link CBS .

Hmmmm....watched the interview.....read the transcript.....
Couric: I'm just going to ask you one more time - not to belabor the point. Specific examples in his 26 years of pushing for more regulation.

Palin: I'll try to find you some and I'll bring them to you.
Such preparation! Answers my questions.....
Thanks for the link kittin

She's given scripted speeches to partisan crowds.

She's had THREE interviews.  One in which she was given softball questions by Sean Hannity and the other two in which she appeared as a blithering idiot, avoiding direct questions and still not capable of answering them when pressed.

How many times has Biden been interviewed in the same time period?  Twelve, fifteen times?

Vicious attacks.  Give me a break!  That's what happens when you get on the national stage. Why should this woman get handled with kid gloves?

Even McCain has realized what an idiot she is.  You can almost see him cringe when she opens her mouth.  That's why his campaign is doing everything possible to keep her mouth shut as much as possible, unless they can spoon feed her what she's supposed to say.

The logistics that we are already suggesting here, not having enough troops in the area right now," Palin said. "The... things like the terrain even in Afghanistan and that border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, where, you know, we believe that-- Bin Laden is-- is hiding out right now and... and is still such a leader of this terrorist movement. There... there are many more challenges there. So, again, I believe that... a surge in Afghanistan also will lead us to victory there as it has proven to have done in Iraq. And as I say, Katie, that we cannot afford to retreat, to withdraw in Iraq.

On the war on terror: piffle, generalities and platitudes, all this with a complete inability to string two words together in order to make a coherent sentence.

I say she should..and every other candidate should join her.

What we're seeing anymore isn't the "press."  they're a rabid wolfpack doing the will of their bosses.

Journalism, anymore, is 1% news, 99% bullshit.  Pure and simple, and it doesn't matter which network/cable channel you watch.

I agree. Her party should liberate Palin and let her loose on the airwaves. What they're doing to her is nothing short of male chauvinism.

I don't see this as a male chauvinism issue, this is about the VP candidate being totally unprepared for the stage she finds herself on.She is in way over her head and it has nothing to do with her wearing a skirt...she does not appear to have the intellect nor the experience for this ...skirt or no skirt she is an empty suit..

IIRC, Obama taught Constitutionsal Law. I think one would need a passing familiarity to do that.

Those who can, do.  Those who can't, teach.  Those who can't teach, administrate.

His erstwhile time as an instructor doesn't seem to have done him any good - his voting record still sucks diseased mucus, what liitle there actually IS of his voting record, considering that he simply voted "present" the vast majority of the time.  What, exactly, does a vote of "present" mean in the halls of congress?  Does it mean "I'm here, but I'm to apathetic to vote"?  Does it mean "I'm here, and I Want to vote X, but my party says vote Y, and I can't go agains the party line"?  Does it mean "I'm here, and I want to vote X OR Y, but that would hurt my money machine"?

Or perhaps it simply means "I'm here, but I'm to stupid to have a clue what's going on, so I'll fake it."

Senator Obama did in fact vote "present" on several occasions, but obviously you have no idea what that means.

The "present" vote is used by lawmakers in situations where they agree, in spirit, with a bill, but the current version of the bill is not good enough to vote "yes" due to expense, riders or earmarks that are entirely inappropriate, or inadequate planning or funding. The "present" vote is taking a stand and says a lot more than if the Senator had just voted "no".

The Republican Party leaders understand this. They are lawmakers, it's what they do everyday as part of their job. What they were counting on was that YOU would not understand the meaning of the "present" vote.

Now you do.
