Newsflash! The conservative old farts you mention who give a fuck about gay marriage and think it shouldn't be allowed are a dying breed [:)] . Pray for their souls and blah blah blah.

You've been telling lies so long
Some believe they're true
So they close their eyes to things
You have no right to do
Just as soon as you are gone
Hope will start to climb
Please don't stay around too long
You're wasting precious time

The Cuban-Americans havnt voted Democrat since JFK.

Cubans voted for Clinton twice. Otherwise they have been GOP voters.

What is interesting is the demographic division in this race, no pun intended. Democrats have their usual voting blocs but need to divide White vote to win. This time it is very different. Someone said identity politics is going to come home to roost big time in the future.

Right-wingers are motivated by fear:

Seems to me, that it's the left side of the political equation that is going balls-to-the-wall in an attempt to discredit Palin.

That's a pretty good indication of fear to me.

No effort is needed to discredit Sarah Palin.

She's a pretty nitwit, who got the gig (1) so the election of John McCain seems believable and (2) to appeal to the crazies who believe the same crazy horseshit she believes ( C'mon -- We all KNOW that the Earth is older than 10,000 years, right -- and we all KNOW people having pre-marital sex should use birth control, right? )

Face it, she's not qualified for a School Board in the lower 48. I wonder why Christine Todd Whitman didn't get the call?

A friend sent me pics of the Anti-Palin rally in Anchorage. 1400 people. In Alaska, that's huuuuge

Must have been the 20% that disapproved of her.

I wonder which band held a free concert before Palin's speech.

I think it was Wally and the Polka Chips.

Wally really wails on the accordian.

Set all the grannies' hearts a flutter.

Well, she's smart enough to be Guv...as was Clinton....so she's probably a fairly smart cookie.

However, if McCain has an aneurysm someday...I can just imagine, for the first time in our history....12 year old boys masturbating to the State of the Union speech.

Let's see... if we apply the "republican math" that was used at an earlier McCain event, (where a crowd of appoximately 8,000 was somehow magically increased to 23,000) that means they've multiplied this by at least a factor of three... so that means the actual attendance was somewhere around... 18,000 to 20,000?

Or the republican math that took the initial population of Wasilla when Palin was mayor (5,469) and then somehow increased that number to around 7,000 by the time of her nomination for VP, and finally up to just under 10,000 once the Rovian machine was up and running.  One would have thought that after the 2000 election and Bush's keen financial plan that we would have realized that GOP math is really more of a set of rough guidelines as opposed to any kind of hard science.

FR:

The "masturbating at the State of the Union" speech is hilarious!

But, other than that, pretty much everything else posted here in this thread does nothing other than cement the impression of most Americans that the left is vicious, mean, petty, and afraid.

Which means that "the average American" doesn't find it very funny, and it draws sympathy for her.

Good job, people.  Keep it up.  [:D]

Yeah, "I wonder why Christine Todd Whitman didn't get the call?" is viscous, mean, petty and afraid...
