Sometimes vanilla dating is stranger than the BDSM crowd.

Okay, I ONCE went on a 'date' with a young lady (vanilla, mind you) who told me ... that even though she KNEW it was irrational ... she had an irrational fear that she had prostate cancer.

I know what you're thinking, but she was a woman, and was in fact BORN a woman.

For a long time, that was pretty high on the weird list.

THough, tonight, I had opportunity to speak with a friend who was SUPPOSED to have a date last night (vanilla) and she told me that she had gone into work for a few hours, then called the fellow to solidify plans. He was aghast that she had not intended to shower again before coming to see him (first date). SHe had just showered only three hours previous. How the topic even came up in the first place is hard to imagine. I *THINK* it was because she told him that she was at work (mind you, she works in an office, not like she shovels shit for a living or something).

Her conversation with him only got weirder, I wish I could remmeber all the details, but I don't think I could relate them.

Anyway, THAT date was a non-starter.

Anyone else have really strange vanilla dating stories?

Yep....years ago ,I went out on a date with this nice young girl....long story short.....she's my ex-wife now.....vanilla dating sucks!!!!!!

I once had one tell me that she wasn't going to invite me in after the date - because she didn't want me to hang with her and her sister .... becuase I was not as attractive as the guys she usually dated ;)

Well.....

I was on my first date with my 2nd husband. We were waiting in the lobby before the movie started when he decided to play a video game. After several minutes of intense searching, I finally asked him which game he was looking for. His reply was that he wasn't looking for any one game in particular, but one that was 25 cents as opposed to 50 cents.

As a callow youth, I visited the bathroom halfway through a date at a restaurant. The taps (fawcets) were push down types, not rotary. These ones were particularly stiff, so I had to lean on top and press down. A jet of water hits the bottom of the basin and shoots out horizontally into my crotch. Was wearing beige chinos, which now included a square foot of dark chocolate brown over my goods. With a bit of quick thinking, came up with a solution...5 minutes later the door swings open and I am revealed to everyone standing on the upturned waste bin, leaning my groin into the hot air drier.

I had a date once in my 'pretend I'm not gay for my mother' phase...

She was more interested in spending time without me than with me

Another date (during the time period) 'round when the Chicago movie was out in theaters... instead of going for dinner she wants to go to see Chicago because she liked Richard Gere (or whatever his name is)... she ended up calling my mother to ask if I could see a movie rated that highly

I guess I've rarely been with anyone truely "vanilla." I've always been a weird person without knowing about BDSM so I always attract weird people.

Plus, even when meeting BDSM people I usually prefer to do first meetings like a usual date.

Perhaps my memory is fuzzy at 4:45am but the most recent meeting I can recall was with someone from CM. It was a total average meeting, have a drink or so and chat. Utterly no expecations of kink. Yet and still, he brings up perhaps going into some alley way so I could "inspect his balls" and maybe "torture them" a little bit. Needless to say that was a first and last meeting.

Usually the only dating misfortune I have is the guy never calling back. Oh well. If I remember any effed up stories I'll post again.

My worst Vanilla Date was with a girl I met at a science fiction convention. Actually, she was quite fun socially, but when we got into the sack, I was appalled about how repressed she was. Wouldn't do oral, didn't want any light in the room (not even candlelight) didn't want to try any position other than missionary. Finally got her to let me go down on her, but then she refused to kiss me again, until I'd washed my face and used some mouthwash. I'd been "down there" and she found the idea of kissing me revolting. (She claimed to be from NYC, but I have a hard time believing that someone that sexually screwed up would come from a huge urban enviroment.) To top it off, she began talking about inviting me to her church the next morning, and would I be interested in joining?

I did my best with what she gave me to work with, but, at the end of the evening, I said goodnight, and got the hell out of there.

Afraid of prostate cancer? I can beat that by a country mile! My last girlfriend- the one that inspired me to come here- she was afraid of SUPER VOLCANOS! Swear to God, the girl was afraid of super volcanos and other doomsday scenerios! It always took so long trying to rationalize with the poor dear. "If a volcano big enough to blow off part of a state did erupt, honey...hey! The war in Iraq and the economy wouldn't be very big deals anymore, would they? I was reminded tonight of a woman who, by the second or third date had confessed to me that she was an author (but didn't want to talk about it) ... a little digging revealed that she had been on OPRAH to talk about her book - which was about her messed up family and her addiction to plastic surgery!

That was not a fling that lasted long, I can tell you ... but it wasn't so much that, as it was upon discovering that she was MARRIED (and I don't mean separated married, but married married. Remember, this is vanilla land.

How about the situations when you go out briefly, say a few weeks with someone, and then they start introducing you as their fiance and telling their family about the upcoming wedding. And they have never asked you about marriage plans at all?
