But you said it was a 'must see'...which is it? Are we to watch or are we to not click on your posts? [8\|] Edited to add that after 2 tours in Iraq, in combat situations, my boy has no love for McCain (who he feels strongly is anti-veteran in is track record) and found the link shallow. No two veterans of that war are going to have the same opinion on it and wanting the war to end is not ‘unpatriotic’ and certainly not a slap in the face of veterans. To direct that little video ‘to Obama’ is disingenuous…how about the fact that my boy has no health care? Are we so concerned for our veterans, our children, our working poor that this simple mark of a ‘civilized’ nation can be overlooked in favor of bailouts, more war-time spending, etc?

Lady the vid was not made by me. if you watch it i am glad. but i do not think the young man in the vid deserves to be mocked or made fun of. it is obvious that kitt & Ayn totally loathe me, so no matter what i post they will insult. for the young man's sake, i wish i could unpost it.

I applaud the young man's sacrifice,while rejecting wholeheartedly the jingoistic slanted personal opinion put forth as propaganda.What makes this young mans opinion any better informed than anyone else's.Shall we now restrict the franchise to those who have worn the uniform...or further cull the polls and allow only those who have lost a limb.The McCain campaign owes this young man an apology for reducing his sacrifice to a regrettable tv spot..

Please see my edit if you would like to know my 'comments'...short answer, this was not 'powerful' to me at all, no matter how well meaning he feels he (and whoever was holding his cue cards) was being. I have yet to see anyone, in all seriousness, claim that what troops are doing is not noteworth...but, with few exceptions, I also do not see thier actions a 'heroic' either, they are fulfilling a duty and, sadly, one who's outcome often causes pain, suffering, death and, yes, resentment. Just as some are greatful, others have wept.

It never ceases to amaze me how many otherwise intelligent people not only drank the kool-aid, but stood in line to get more. I feel bad for this soldier and all the others killed or wounded. He did not give his leg for the cause of freedom. Rather, it was taken from him for the causes of greed and power. We were lied to and conned to support a pointless war. There is no honor in dieing for a cause based on lies. I have stood in lines and saluted at military funerals. I honor the dead but they gave nothing which was not taken. It's a nice video but the only truth is in that young man's head. ~Dave

i have a dear friend (a marine) that has served in iraq 2 tours. he told me the other day he signed up for his 3rd. i too have my doubts about this war. so i looked him in the eye and asked him why is he doing this the 3rd time? he looked at me and said, "it is my duty." then i asked him if we (the United States) should be fighting this war? he replied with a tear in his eye, "yes, we belong there. we must succeed and finish the job." i will miss him so much! he leaves in Oct or Nov. when i saw this vid i thought of him. sorry i offended!
