The market is not global anymore than it was global 50 years ago…

Nonsense.

quote:

I would love to see your proof that the American worker is overpaid and under productive…please show me a few links that back up this statement… If you run a few searches on the net maybe your opinion will change…unless you are bigoted.

You just have to buy a Japanese made car and compare it with an American one to see which worker is better. It is not rocket science.

quote:

I will agree with you about excessive taxation and regulation but not subsidies and protectionism. In the past our regulations were based on what was best for business…not the American people…that needs to change.

The USA is highly protectionist. They close the door to foreign competition on a whim, and sometimes act illegally when doing so.

quote:

We use 50 percent of the oil in the world…no producer could take that kind of drop over night… They would give in if grudgingly…

No they wouldn't. If you weren't buying their oil, they'd consider their reserves longer lasting. The Saudis think in centuries, not decades.

Nonsense huh…open your eyes …try this, check all the manufactured items in your home for country of manufacture… Now tell me where in the world today is most of the manufacturing…hmmm maybe Asia.

About Japanese vehicles…if you knew what you were talking about you would know that 15 million so called Japanese vehicles were made in America by American workers…to be sold in America. Strange that they would much rather use American workers because they work more hours with less vacation than there overseas counter parts…. Get it right when you use examples.

On protectionism …show me where the US is any more protectionist then Europe…Asia… or New Zealand for that matter…Don’t just say it prove it.

The Saudi’s never think past their next buck...in the past they have given in to American pressure and increased production…thereby decreasing the cost… They will do it again if we had leadership with guts.

Oh I see, you didn't like me correcting you, and so you've chosen to put your fingers in your ears and go lalalala. What provides me with a home is hard work and enterprise, no thanks to colonialism. This is the crux of where you're going wrong. You are giving yourself credit for something worthy you didn't have a hand in. For some it is hard to see themselves in a bad light. The prison is full of people claiming innocence.

? How can you correct me? What is it then - I didnt start a thread the way you think it ought to have been? Here's some advice - START YOUR OWN DAMNED THREAD, if you're so damned clever, and stop leading mine off course.

? s'funny - what provides me with a home is hard work and enterprise, also no thanks to colonialism? Yet for some reason your rise is noble and good and mine is founded on the exploitation of others - DONT TALK RUBBISH; in case you hadnt noticed the whole system is founded on exploitation - ask a Maori nationalist.

You are most welcome LadyEllen...and welcome back.

I like to express my views in a fair and balanced way (gee, i sound like Fox News Channel...lol).

Expressing extreme views on either side of the coin helps no one...it only makes the arguments less credible IMHO.

PS: How do you add a line and a permanent quote at the bottom of each message?
