JewAndCelt -> RE: collar of protection (9/30/2008 7:40:46 PM)

what do you need protection from?

boytoyinatlanta -> RE: collar of protection (9/30/2008 7:43:20 PM)

from bad play partners, users, abusers, sex fiends, and other undesirables

LadyLupineNYC -> RE: collar of protection (9/30/2008 7:43:28 PM)

I am not a fan; makes no sense.  Either your are working for a collar or you are a play partner(I am sureothers have other catagories as well).  You are a human with a full range of free will, you can walk away from anyone you would need 'protecting' from.

sunshinedreams -> RE: collar of protection (9/30/2008 7:43:44 PM)

Is it like bulletproof or something? I'm a bit confused....

Edited because I obviously need coffee or something, duh!

Anyone with criminal intent isn't going to give two shits about some 'collar'...everyone else she just says 'no' to.  S-types are not and should not see themselves as 'mindless'.

Oh......so ummm shouldn't an adult be able to protect themselves from those types of people? I mean do you get a protection badge when you go off in the big bad world and date vanilla men?

Who is protecting you, How are they protecting you and from what are they protecting you?

Aileen1968 -> RE: collar of protection (9/30/2008 7:47:40 PM)

I think a collar of protection is what a dom offers you when he's trying to get into your panties.

RedMagic1 -> RE: collar of protection (9/30/2008 7:49:03 PM)

I agreed with you until Master Fire posted that she uses collars of protection in her household protocols.  That made me less cynical about the things.

Kind of, but not really.  Just get one with a nice heavy buckle on it.  If someone doesn't understand 'No.', then take it off and slap the flaming green christ out of them with the heavy end of said collar.  [:D]

I think that women are more serious about it when they offer it and men who offer one...just want to get into a sub's panties.  If I was talking to a dom and he offered that, it would be the end of any interest on my part.

DAMMIT, BK!! LMAO!! (I'm just glad nobody was in the lobby to hear me laughing like I just did!)

JohnWarren -> RE: collar of protection (9/30/2008 7:58:39 PM)

GT, I like the way you think.

GreedyTop -> RE: collar of protection (9/30/2008 7:59:40 PM)

wow, thanks John!! *hugs to you and Libby*

JohnWarren -> RE: collar of protection (9/30/2008 8:03:56 PM)

Many years ago, I worked as a police reporter.  One of the cops got a bullet proof vest.  He wore it for a few weeks and then someone jokingly punched him in the chest.  THAT was when he discovered the plastic plates that had arrived with the vest had to put put IN the vest for it to work.

That's sorta my view of a "collar of protection," a bullet proof vest that won't stop a BB.

Missokyst -> RE: collar of protection (9/30/2008 8:05:21 PM)

Well.. if you don't take the collar off for showers or sleep, the effect is pretty much the same.. phew.

*snort*

Actually, with some rare exceptions, I tend to agree with Aileen

. Yes, it's a generalization, but one I think isn't too far off the mark.
