SZ, you may not be a received-message-virgin anymore, but one message does hardly an evil overlord make.  All overlords ARE evil, right?

Cali

lol

No. I'm pretty sure that there are some nice overlords out there. Really. I've read about them and seen them on the news. Not all overlords are evil and are seeking dictatorship over man-kind. Sure, some want that, but some just want to make this world a better place... Santa's an overlord. Too bad he only comes out a year. (Boy, isn't that innuendo fodder)

I'm not sure if I've evil enough to be an evil overlord, though.

I haven't blocked anyone in a long time, so I checked my list.  I have one person blocked.  It was a 50 year old gay, dominant man from Australia that had a hair fetish.  Apparently, I have sexy hair.  I politely told him, no thanks on his first email.  I continued to receive rather creepy emails occasionally for about a month.  I thought it was funny at first, but I finally had enough.  I get emails from gay doms all the time, and it doesn't bother me.  Most of the time, a polite "no thanks" is sufficient.  I am secure with my sexuality, so it's cool to know that I'd be popular if I was gay.  But this fucking dude was just creepy.

Yeah well as I said in the private message to you - I don't agree.

And why is it the two times so far that I've been busted for infractions it has been by you. Is ModeratorEleven a generic account - What happen to ModertorOne - ModeratorTen? Did they crack under the pressure and get disposed of?

I just recently started blocking within the last two months. It is a beautiful feature. I started out with saying nice things like, "Thank you for your interest but..." Then came the repeated form letters. There were letters from those that had not read my profile. Third time on a form letter, your blocked. Third time contacting me or pleading with me...blocked. I was hesitant at first. Then came the will I go live with a dominant couple and give up my life-indicating they have not read the profile. Then the farm's as stated above. Now, I just block. I do it with a really bad Abba tune in my head. I am the blocking queen, na na na...

That would be because Moderator Eleven is the head of the squad.....and will be here for long long time coming. Try to knock windmills down much? And over a thread getting moved?  LOL, welcome to the boards...I have an idea it's gonna make for good reading. :)

First Block - Today! And I didn't do it, Master did it on my account. Ruined my fun, too, i have to say.
I rarely block. I reserve the right to, but so few are really worth the effort, most are one time drive by shooters, and those that aren't are so fun to play with!
Got a message a week or so ago from a Gorean telling me I had no right to have a Gor quote on my journal, since I was just a pretend makebelieve sub, and it was a slap in the face to real Goreans.
I wrote him back and asked him why John Norman is so sancroscont. I have Shakespeare, Frost and Rumi quotes on my Journal too. Norman is sacred, but the Bard and Rumi are not? okay, right.
Then he got REALLY insulting. Long letters calling me fat (wow, that always hurts me - I mean, there is something that cuts to the bone, that painful combination of truth, and something I didn't know. You mean I'm FAT? OMG!), worthless, stupid, explaining how I could never be a real submissive (<sigh> my weal twue card got taken up again. I is always losing it. 'cause I such a loser, is why, clearly....) Did you know you can loose your weal twue card extra speedy quick like, for using uppercase proper English? Apparently, that is the NUMBER ONE sign of an unwela untwue subbiewubbiedubbie. Who Knew?
Master read the exchange today, and blocked him. After mailing him and inviting him to continue the conversation with his profile... I doubt we will hear from him with that limiation on him, however.
But, I don't know why Master took my new toy away, though... I was have'n fun!

I suspect another Domme blocked me after I disagreed with her Highness' Dommely Philosophy one time too many on the boards.  But how can I tell?

I sent her a few private emails and got no response.  Her profile has disappeared when I click on her name.  And yet she still posts in CM and I can read her posts.

IF I was blocked - not just ignored - would I get a message something like "you have been blocked, ner ner ner!!"????

How often do you find yourself forced or choose to use the features?

Rarely, and I only do it if the person seems a little unhinged in some way.

It could be the person who blocked you did it by mistake. I've done that, and had an email from a third person telling me I had them blocked. I went over and promptly unblocked them so I could get the message they wanted to send.

I'm still just curious what happen to ModeratorOne - Ten .... You'd think that ModeratorEleven would be pretty low on the seniority list and getting to be the top dog. Guess in general if you are going to get your hand slapped it's better to get slapped by the big cheese :) And as ModeratorEleven so politely told me in private message - I took it a little to personal.

Notice you were from Dothan..... Nice little town - US231 through Alabama is one of my favorite routes. Use it when traveling to Florida as an alternative if I'm concern about weather conditions through the smokies and north Georgia. Stayed at the Fairfield in Dothan several times.
Opps there I go off topic again <grin>

When email is submitted and composed well I will respond with something polite and sincere, even if I am not interested in the sender (for whatever reason).  I will also note in the email that I am not interested in further correspondence.  If I receive more than one more email from that individual, I block them.  I don't troll profiles, therefore would not block one just for the heck of it.

(oh sorry I'm off topic again) :)

Staying ontopic is not my bestest thing ever, really. Though I've never been slapped for it, yet.
Well, not by a mod. Once I posted a recipie in the middle of the Gorean forum, and some Gorean Masters took offense. Which, I have to say, I understand - that was pretty off topicish. Although a free woman wrote and thanked me for the recipie :)

Well that creates a dilemma - I'd like to know if it was an accident - but the last thing I'd ever want to do was intrude and if I was blocked for a reason then I would most certainly want to respect that regardless. Oh well if I really wanted to contact her bad enough could have sub do it from her account.
