...don't know if i've ever been blocked. However i have blocked precisely one person......and that only on the other side. Some may remember Epgah........after they stopped posting here they began filling up my in box with long diatribes. i answered a few, but in the end got fed up with smacking my head against a brick wall.

Mentioning names on the boards is a voilation of TOS.
In addition to which He is a friend of mine. He has never written me anything but polite letters - and continued to do so when my CM bug meant I couldn't respond to him for about a year.
His letters were so consistantly polite and respectful that the first week that we knew our bug was fixed and we could write people, it was MASTER who said, 'you need to remeber to write him.'
In the interest of TOS, you might want to consider editing to remove the screenname in your complaint.

I have been blocked once to my knowlege.  It was some guy who is local to me that desired a play partner.  Things were ok at first.  I explained I do not play casually, and was really looking for someone with whom I might have other things in common.  I pointed out the local group where he might meet others.
During our brief emails to each other I saw that we would not be compatible.
Some time later he became more insistant that we should meet and play.
It was clear that my gentle approach of denial was not getting through so I let loose with what I felt.
He sent me back a "snobbish, bitch, clueless wannabee, you are not true sub", email, and promptly blocked me so I could not respond.

As for whether I have blocked someone, yes I did one time.  He made some negative comments on my former dominant and that was pissing me off.

Referring to another user is not a violation of the forum rules.  Referring to them in a derogatory manner is.

I block repeat emailers--the guys who email, then forget they hit on you once already, and email again a few months later.  It just gets irritating after a while.  I also block anyone who is out and out rude (which I don't run into much) and guys who just can't take no for an answer, even when you're nice about it.

It is possible to block someone simply by looking at their profile.  The only people I have blocked are those that have made me feel truly uncomfortable.  There is one man who likes to write me things like, "so how did the sex change operation go?"  He loves to be spanked and thinks that by being rude he will "earn" a spanking.  Nope - he earns being blocked.

I had someone block me that took me by surprise.  A Dom had subscribed to my journal after I first joined CM as a Domme.  I tried to write to him simply because I was curious why he subscribed and wanted to know if he liked the entries - they were mostly teaching entries.  I had never written to him before but he had me blocked.  I thought it was interesting that he would subscribe to my journal yet never want me to speak tom him.

Let it roll of your back.  I doubt it was anything personal if you'd never spoken to the person.  Since they are in your same area they may just have a very specific idea of what they are looking for.

There were some problems for a while with some browsers causing you to block people without you knowing it.  I think it was the same issue kc was talking about earlier in this thread.  I remember some threads, maybe late last year, about people looking at their own "blocked" list and finding tons of people on it when they had not blocked anybody.

i only block after i have politely explained that i am seeking local and real....and then i send an e-mail telling them i am about to block them and why............i have however been blocked just recently by someone i was falling for very quickly and they did not even explain as to why........being an adult means you speak to people like you wish them to speak to you also..............for shame some people on earth haven't quite grown up into the real world

Okay, I confess I'm too lazy to read all the responses, this time, so I may be repeating other responses.

It could be that you were blocked because that person has filters up for a certain select group - by age or gender or whatever filters are available - and you don't happen to fall within the range.  Since you've had no contact before, it's likely not to be directed at you, specifically.

For emails, I've had very rare need to block anyone.  Very rarely, someone will send something meant to be provocative - in an obnoxious sense, almost always involves their resenting my stated preferences on my profile not including them.  And a few times, about the third time I've heard from someone who either hasn't read my profile at all - and it shows - or to whom I've already said no, thank you, I'll block them, just to save us both the trials and tribulation.
