a slave should try hard to be ok when her Master is away... but simpleplan2, its ok to know nothing... however, the way you talk is very unhelpful... you are thick with sarcasm

It's okay to know nothing?  What if your master gets hurt while you are away?  Whatever will you do if you know nothing?  Will you just sit on the floor and waste away until you die?  Oh, the horror.

It is impossible to know NOTHING. No one's life began the day they met their Master/Mistress. How did they manage before you? The same way they will manage if you leave them for a few days or weeks. I cant imagine being interested in someone so completely dependant on you that you have to worry about their abilities when you are not home as you would a dog or cat. I would consider it irrisponsable of the owner to not educate a slave or submissive in the basics of taking care of themselves, cooking and shopping, while the dominant wasnt available. How can they serve you if they cant even make a sandwich for themselves? What is it she would have to do while you were gone that would be so different from what she does while you are there?

my pet has been away on business for nearly 2yrs yet we still manage to have a friendship and now D/s relationship via emails/phone calls. his job as construction site manager has him flying with the boss from one city to the next at a moment's notice ...sometimes working up 16hrs a day. though it totally sucks that our time together only happens every 3 to 4 months, we somehow squeeze some fun during that weekend between business meetings.

I just began traveling quite a bit for work.  I am sometimes gone for 2 weeks (rarely 3 weeks, but it's possible).  Am I still a viable Master for 24/7 TPE.  What do I do with my current slave?

Take her to the local kennel. She can run and frolic with the rest of the slave's. It's great for their mental well being, ya know.

This has got to be a joke.  She's a functioning human being, isn't she?  I should think you could leave her alone as long as you have to.  If not, I'd seriously consider finding one that you could.

Well you see...a true slave has to have permission to do things as simple as pee and feed herself. So he does have a dilemma.

serisa...it's actually not ok to know nothing.  How can you know "nothing" and still exist?  The way I talk is unhelpful?  Maybe you should look at the responses after your post.

Tie the slave up and put her/him in the basement. Be sure to stuff a pair of panties in the slave's mouth and cover it with duct tape. Otherwise, someone might hear the hollering and call the cops - which would suck for you.

Ok, sorry - i just couldn't resist... maybe 3 hours of sleep in 48 isn't enough :)

you missed my point... what i meant was i can not blame you for not knowing any better.  if everyone knew the cut and dry and answer (should there be a definite answer) to everything on this planet there would be no pont to half the questions posted on the message boards.

But seriously, the Dominant posting the question obviously had His slaves best interests at heart when He asked what others thought about Him havig to leave her for long periods of times.  He was being kind, caring & thoughtful.  What gives you thr right to answer in such way to a genuine question He wished to hear others HELPFUL opinions on?.  Come on... can You really sit there and maintain Your reply was in any way constructive?,  was He really any better off for hearing it?.

Sorry, but i just get a bit fed on here of others that respond to other peoples genuine questions disrespectfully, with sarcasm, that offer no constructive value whatsoever.  anyone wish to argue that i am wrong?, i doubt it

And you picked out this ONE response why? It surely wasn't the only one that was sarcastic and, actually, it did offer constructive value as it said, "I should think you could leave her alone as long as you have to.  If not, I'd seriously consider finding one that you could."

When someone posts an intelligent question, they generally get a lot of good advice. Granted, there's always the sarcastic, snarky remarks but we are human so it's not that surprising. i feel sorry for any one that found him/herself involved with a "Dom" that thought the "slave" couldn't function independently. That, in my own personal opinion, mean the slave had some serious problems in life. YMMV, of course.

i guess You are right that He could just seriously consider getting a different slave if she couldnt cope with it as a constructive suggestion.  However, the OP doesnt say if this slave is collared or, if she is... what value the collar means on a personal level to the Master/slave.  i would hope though, that if slave was collared and had difficulty with the seperation, that He wouldnt disgard her as some cumbersome object just because she is not perfect to His new needs and instead try to come up with other ways to make it less stressful.  as some others have already suggested, text, e-mail, phone and tasks to do in His absence may help ease the separation.  Perhaps even a web cam could be helpful.

in a lifestyle where the collar (if she has one) is supposed to be as meaningful as a wedding ring, the whole find a new slave thing is very harsh.  i guess i just have to accept though that these days many people dont take on board the traditional meaning of a collar and change their slaves as easily as changing their car.  i hope no one would suggest dumping their wife if she happened to have separation issues !

I am an incredibly independent kind of submissive (though the level of submission I prefer borders on slave). I have no issue filling my time when I am not with a man and would always consider a man's ownership to be something binding - each hour of the day - whether he was there or not. However... I am trying to hold myself out for someone who is in the military... and the distamce is something that even I may not be able to handle. Granted, we haven't met... there is only promise, so far. But, when things started, it seemed so easy... the thought of waiting for someone to return. In reality, it leaves these holes... times I need him to remind me of my role to him... of what he needs from me... and that can't be there.  So, I would say there may be a time frame of maximum absence that can be endured. Of course, a lot will depend on how much you can contact her. In my case, I get e-mails every few days, as he can write them. I don't know that this is enough.

From where i'm sitting, you're just reading WAY too much into the original post. Of course, if the OP came back, maybe he could clarify. Until then i'm just taking it on face value - he said new slave, which doesn't = collared to me.

I don't know what OP you read, but surely it was not the same one I did.  He said, "what do I do with my current slave?".

You say he obviously had her best interest at heart?  Really?  Change the word 'slave' to 'wife' and read it again... "what do I do with my current wife?".  How does it read now?  Does it sound like separation issues?

I don't know what "one true way" book you've been reading, but a collar is not supposed to be anything.  It has a different meaning for different people.

Last time I checked, we're allowed to have different opinions than you do, even if you think they're harsh.
