ClwtrCpl -> Verifying People (10/10/2008 4:42:25 PM)

Could someone enlighten us as to why so many people on here refuse to cam or call to show they are either a female, or the person in the photos they show?

A call with *67 blocks all information from the person you call.

beargonewild -> RE: Verifying People (10/10/2008 4:46:31 PM)

- keep a sense of personal privacy?
- not willing to chance the other person is a pervert  (in a negative sense)
- some don't own webcams
- some want to get to know you better before divulging more personal info

The thing is, nowadays, people are less likely to offer too much info in case the other person turns out to be unstable. I know many people are very reluctant to allow others to get closer due to past bad experiences which can influence one's decision and they become less open about themselves to people they barely know.

SageFemmexx -> RE: Verifying People (10/10/2008 4:52:27 PM)

I've had a male sub become extremely abusive in email and start accusing me of being male for refusing to webcam after first C-mail contact. Maybe people are gunshy like myself and want more info before opening themselves up.

Exactly! I do own a webcam though I rarely use the thing., I find that when I do cam 2 cam with another person, they automatically assume I gave consent for cam 2 cam sex, which I find is a complete turn off. It may be another's fetish though it's not mine.

windchymes -> RE: Verifying People (10/10/2008 4:57:15 PM)

Well, maybe they're NOT female or are not in the picture they've posted.

Or, what bear said.

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: Verifying People (10/10/2008 4:57:37 PM)

for one they're always asked to....but the people asking DONT DO IT themselves!

edit:i dont use any stupid yahoo, msn, aim crap either so i could never cam to cam.  i could go into vid chat here ..many regulars here have already seen my hot body through vid chat...and theyve seen my kitty sleepy on my lap.

If we exchange a few emails, and then one of us says, "I'd like to talk to you, here's my number" - great.

If someone says, "call me so you can prove you're a woman" - not so much.

LadyEllen -> RE: Verifying People (10/10/2008 5:05:24 PM)

Lets see

Boob job $5,000-00
SRS $20,000-00
Facial reconstruction $30,000-00

Now where am I supposed to find the money for a bleedin' webcam?

What Cali said....

oh, and Bear? I promise I wouldnt expect camsex from you (unless you wanted to that is ;) )

LadyE... *snortsnicker!!!*

Raechard -> RE: Verifying People (10/10/2008 5:12:42 PM)

Biometric data, it's all the rage. In the future we will all be implanted with a chip that says who the chip is implanted in.[8|]

sappatoti -> RE: Verifying People (10/10/2008 5:17:51 PM)

But that also means the chip's programming can be changed, given enough security and authority. In the beginning, the chip could accurately ID us but some one could conceivably change that information so the chip is broadcasting you to be someone else.

Exactly. [:D]  Never have got around to looking for one.  Not that i feel i need one.  So, it just lets me put money towards certain other things in my life, hehehe.

Raechard -> RE: Verifying People (10/10/2008 5:21:39 PM)

The chip will be encoded with SSL technology and by then we would have invented a few other security acronyms; so all will be fine. Don't quote me on that I'm speaking off the record[8|]

stella41b -> RE: Verifying People (10/10/2008 5:23:14 PM)

So you'd be comfortable with me asking you in a face to face meeting to prove you're female or who you say you are?

I'm sorry but I'm of similar view to Califchick on this one. I don't take kindly to the little Hitler attitude of some people. I mean, what next? Stop and search at the first vanilla meeting?

The choice to me is pretty simple, you either take what I'm saying at face value or you don't. I don't have anything to prove to anyone here, not least to complete strangers. I also don't need anyone to validate who I am either. If you feel you cannot then I'm sorry, it's your problem.

Seems to me being generally suspicious of what other people tell you kind of defeats the objective of the exercise when you're looking for people on the Internet.

Certainly. I do not own a web cam. I sound like a male on the phone, and I know it and couldnt care less.
I do not particularly like being challenged to prove who I am to anyone.
I am not a trained poodle, I do not jump through hoops to make a prospect happy. If you cannot be happy with conversation online and possibly a phone call when *I* am ready and interested in doing so... you are not the one for me.
I do not chat with someone to the point of needing "verification" unless I plan on meeting them. My verification is those plans to meet. If I weren't who I am then I sure as hell put a lot of effort into makeing sure all ,my photos are stolen of the same chick. And making sure that that chick is dating some guy who I can steal lots of photos of too, and then plenty of couple photos of them together. IF you cant tell by the sheer number of pictures available of me that I am indeed female and who I say I am than no matter what else I do it wont satisfy you.

Daddysredhead -> RE: Verifying People (10/10/2008 5:44:29 PM)

I wouldn't cam with anyone, esp. not if they wanted me to do it for some sort of "proof."  [8|]

coupleowl -> RE: Verifying People (10/10/2008 5:46:01 PM)

Well if we have to prove ourselfs. It kinda sounds like we're not trusted to begin with. So what's the point of dealing with anyone who doesn't believe anything we say right off the bat?

cravesdom -> RE: Verifying People (10/10/2008 5:51:33 PM)

When I was still searching, I didn't mind going on webcam to show someone what I look like, although my pics are a pretty fair indication. The problem was most of the time they didn't have a webcam to show me what they looked like and they assumed that since I was willing to show my face on a webcam and a sub, I must be willing to do whatever they asked me on cam too. Most often this was after one or two emails too. Big turn off.
