Obama will have to pay for his plan to  socialize health care somehow, unless you really believe that it's possible to get something for nothing.

You're reading the wrong tax plan,  That's McCains where he will start taxing the employer portion of insurance as income.

I own a business, my employees will be screwed if I have to start taking out taxes that McCain says will not hurt them.

I would like a tax credit for keeping jobs here instead of getting one for shipping them overseas.  I'll still make a dam good living.

slvemike4u -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 11:54:44 AM)

So now you are characterizing the American Taxpayer as an animal begging for handouts....Once again Sanity it is a reduction in taxes currently being paid by hard working middle-class Americans Obama is pledging, hardly a handout....its their fucking money to begin with....And BTW once their allowed to retain more of it they will have more purchasing power and consequently they will BUY MORE....SORT OF A TRICKLE UP PHILOSOPHY....get it?

Sanity -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 11:56:02 AM)

And I'm not reading the wrong plan. I've provided the video of Obama telling in his own words that he will take from the rich in order to "spread the wealth".

It's pandering of the worst possible kind, and saying that he's a big-time socialist as  bluntly as he did to Joe the plumber may be the mistake that costs Barack Obama the election, because this development is all the buzz today.

NuminousLeader -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 11:56:10 AM)

You're talking about Bushes Tax Plan, (McCains idea, cause he can't think of his own) is does not work now and it will not work in the next 4 years

You can take your spin and wish whatever you may, but when it comes down to the truth, Giving tax breaks to the wealthy and not the middle class has pushed this country to where it is today.

Every tax plan McCain has is all ready in place and they are not working., well except he wants to give the rich evenmore tax breaks

DedicatedDom40 -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 11:57:03 AM)

Valid question for Obama, but why it was Joe the Plumber asking instead of anyone else, well that was nothing but a ruse.  Methinks the entire drama has something to do with this?

Sanity -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 11:58:46 AM)

As I've said before, it can't be a tax reduction when the people Barack is pandering to are people who don't pay any taxes to begin with.

It's not a tax cut, it's a hand out.

Sanity -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 12:01:43 PM)

In this video, Barack Obama is clearly promising that if Joe votes for him he'll "spread the wealth around".

I don't know why you're still stuck on Bush...

NuminousLeader -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 12:02:35 PM)

Well better a hand out to the middle class then the top 1% of this country

NuminousLeader -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 12:03:51 PM)

What you can't read,  Please tell me where McCains tax plan is different than Bushes, except he gives even more back to the wealty

Sanity -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 12:12:03 PM)

1. The poor don't pay any taxes now.

2. Lower taxes isn't giving anyone anything, it's allowing people to keep their own money.

3. The wealthy know better than government bureaucrats how to stimulate the economy. Bureaucrats will waste the majority of the money as is typical of big government, while the wealthy would expand their businesses and hire more people if they're allowed to keep their own money.

4. The government is bloated, and need trimmed. Instead of looking for someone to steal from, trim the waste.

5. Allowing politicians to buy votes with money the government steals is a sad practice, and the wrong road to go down if we truly want prosperity in this country.

1.  The poor don't pay taxes????  really  They don't eat, they don't buy gas, they don't have homes, they don't have power (elec, or gas) the poor don't have phones?

2. You mean the poor get to keep their money

3. Yes, it's worked so well the last 7 years

Sorry got tired of reading your BS

Sanity -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 12:18:30 PM)

Federal Income Taxes is the argument, and what Barack Obama has been focusing on - as if you didn't know this. As far as the last seven years go, what are you arguing? That Barack Obama's bigger government, higher tax burdens and government handouts would have boosted the economy higher???

Right and so what does Mccain offer?????????????????  Nothing new, nothing but the same old same old,  the trickle down theory does not work, when will the GOP wise up?

Sanity -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 12:23:54 PM)

McCain doesn't offer Barack Obama Socialism, which is at least a start. He's not pandering for votes.

"That Barack Obama's bigger government, higher tax burdens and government handouts would have boosted the economy higher???"

Yes, I forgot how it was the Dems who had our goverment grow to is size and power it is now.  Bush and his GOP supporters had nothing to do with it, (even though McCain supported Bush (90% of the time)

NuminousLeader -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 12:25:27 PM)

Not pandering??????? What do you call palin?  a good choice?

Sanity -> RE: Joe The Plumber: Obama Tax Plan 'Infuriates Me' (10/16/2008 12:30:26 PM)

If you feel the need to change to subject over to Governor Palin I would suggest you start a new thread, I'm not sure we have any discussions going about her yet   [8|]

As for bigger government under Bush, I agree with you - the government is bloated and needs to be cut (as I've been arguing in this thread all along).

Update, Oct. 16: ABC News reported that Wurzelbacher may actually qualify for a tax cut under Obama's plan, and not a tax increase. ABC reported on its Web site the morning after the debate that one of its reporters, Chris Bury, had spoken to Wurzelbacher and that he "acknowledged that he wants to purchase the plumbing business for $250-280,000, not that he would net that much in profits." ABC news quoted him as saying he would make much less than $250,000. If that's correct, then Wurzelbacher based his complaint on a misunderstanding of how Obama's tax plan would affect him. Earlier, Wurzelbacher appeared live on ABC's Good Morning America program and repeated his complaints about higher taxes, but anchor Diane Sawyer did not ask him about his expected profits or question whether his taxes really would go up. We await further clarification.

Ahhh  well good luck with your spinning, however since McCain supported Bush on 90% of what the government is now, I fail to see how he will end it

I tire of your games, good luck on Nov 4th

And it was You who mentioned 'pandering" not me, I just mentioned McCains pandering to the base
