You also might ask her to stay out of your personal things, and next time you have company that is not kink friendly find something with a lock to put things in...... if need be the trunk of your car for their visit.

I (recently discovered) am a lesbian who has come out to my parents and they accepted me the way that i am, they have supported me and love me just the way I am now. But think of the relief you would feel if you finally told your mother.

haha, That's why it's a toy Chest, comes equipped with a lock, and the padlock closes, i-magine that. I doubt I would have to worry, I think if my mom came over she'd stay out of the bedroom (if I had my own place et al.)

Accidentally snoops? Is that possible? I always thought snooping was an intentional act. You tell her she shouldn't snoop because she might find things she doesn't like. Other than that, you tell her "Yeah, I'm kinky. So what's for dinner?"

if she sees it, she sees it. she is older then you and has most likly seen or done something similar in the past. i think if your "INTO IT" that's how you where made! JK. my moms has seen all my things....i dont even worry about it anymore. she just says "if thats what you like..go for it!, i cant stop ya." so thats what i do. and here i am!

fast reply I don't let my mom in my house, or, more accurately she does not want to come in. She doesn't like the cats and they live here and she doesn't. So I can have anything out I want anywhere I want it:p

My Mother already knows, she snoops through my partners. Now I have learned not to introduce them to my mother.

Knowing my family the correct response would be: "So, found anything you'd like to play with Mom?" Which would stop her in her tracks if I caught her at it. If I didn't catch her and she brings it up, I might ask the same thing. That or go "Jeez Mom, I thought we had been over this. Your little girl likes handcuffs and bondage rope. Get over it. Remember that time when me and the sib were talking about that stuff at the dinner table? I know it was a few years ago..." That being said, snooping is an intentional act. What she may come across might have been on accident, but seriously. If you have a toy chest, I would suggest locking it. If she cannot respect privacy then make her not welcome. Cruel? Maybe. But privacy should be respected.

My mom and I have developed a don't ask, don't tell policy, since she usually doesn't like the answers she gets when she does ask. I would probably just give her 'the look', that one that says we are not even discussing this.[8\|]

Easy... wouldn't be much of an issue of that happening with me. For one my mother lives over 15 hours away so she's not going to just be dropping in and for another I already came out and told my family what I was involved in before I went through an ugly divorce that I was certain my bitter ex-wife would use my lifestyle against me. Then again that all goes under the premise that my mother and I have a good relationship and can talk openly about anything.

i have a 12 year old son who expects and gets a degree of privacy. if i was snooping around in his things and found something i wasnt comfortable with id be in a difficult position straight off for being privvy to something i had no right to. (this btw would exclude anything really important like drugs or me checking his 'browsing history' and finding out he'd been on sites id banned him from) but if it was private personal stuff id have to keep quiet on it or lose his trust - so id have to deal with it myself and let it go. if your mother has made herself privvy to private personal stuff to do with you she should do the same and deal with it and trust that youre ok and happy and still her son, no matter what. but youre a grown up and your mother has absolutely no right to go snooping anywhere, if she finds something in your toy box then let her approach you about it. otherwise dont say anything. she shouldnt have been snooping. if that was my mum, she'd get a flea in her ear and the very clear message that it had absolutely nothing atall to do with her.

It's amazing how they quickly change the subject when I ask if they really want to know why I own a flogger or the handcuffs I forgot to put away!
