This is odd. A month ago Powell was undecided... that's not really too much of an endorsement.

quote:

Colin Powell, the first African-American Secretary of State, said this afternoon that electing an African-American US president would be “electrifying” for the world, but he said he still remains undecided between McCain and Obama.

Appearing today at George Washington University with four other former US Secretaries of State -- Madeleine Albright, James Baker, Warren Christopher, and Henry Kissinger -- Powell and the panel were asked by a student whether they thought America electing Obama president would send a more powerful image overseas than John McCain.

I am quite certain you would be playing an entirely different tune if he had endorsed McCain.

Hell Latige, lets be honest ,if Powell had endorsed McCain...Sanity and Heretic would be proclaiming him one of the greatest American hero's...a true military visionary who's judgement should be respected by all.....

Don't the world's socialist elite normally dine on Iranian caviar while the little people starve?

You must be totally desperate to get so angry over such irrelevant trivia  - it's all spin, spin, spin in your world right now. Tell me... how do you keep your vision from not getting blurred?

Powell endorces Obama only because Obama is an African American. Nobody believes Obama's Western European type socialist economics ideas impress the general.
I didn't realize racism was cool again.

It's not that it's cool; it's that it's widespread. Sheep like it.

That's not even the worse of it either  . Ultimately this election will be decided by the prevalence or not of racial prejudice - and Powell's endorsement will make little difference to its outcome.

Any one of our canines might be better suited for office than the one with.

I know.  It's the subtext of this election.

I doubt that the news would have even reached us had that been the case.

Hi slvmike..politics are like sports in a way. People are usually allowed to resign before they are fired. That is just what happened here...

Did you eat the cracker jacks that came with your degree, or did you throw them away.

I haven't heard THIS on Fox News, only on Glenn Beck - and he's on CNN.

Which presidential candidate (who is just like us, by the way) dines on lobster hors d'oeuvres, whole steamed lobsters, and Iranian caviar?

OMG!! Bush let Iranian caviar into the country!?! This IS news! I thought the Department of Homeland Security was supposed to prevent this sort of thing!

..oddly enough the place i got my degree from didn't see the need to incentivise people with snacks. The decent library was a big part of it though.

Sanity, do you really believe that the media would have ignored an ex-secretary of state had he endorsed McCain instead of Obama? If so, then that really is paranoid....and while we rarely agree i wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Seriously - why would a presidential candidate be eating anything Iranian, while Iranians are killing American soldiers.
