President's Salary Effective January 1, 2001, the annual salary of the president of the United States was increased to $400,000 per year, including a $50,000 expense allowance. Vice President's Salary The salary of the vice president is currently (for 2008) $221,100 ALL of them have other income, including Speakers/Lecture Fees, Stocks, Bonds, Business', etc. SO...If they vote in this tax increase, a goodly number of them are going to be PAYING that tax as well, including Obama and McCain. poenkitten
