What a crock. How are they going to get this to fly? They won't have a supermajoirty, or at least probably not, and who in their right mind would vote for this, and then go home to their district? Seriously? They'd be tarred and feathered, then ran out of office. Either way, its like squeezing blood from a stone, people in smaller places of work look after their own, and getting paid under the table is still a time honored tradition. But believe what you want sanity, but this is crazy talk.

You think that China is doing so well these days because of Socialism???

Try again. The reason that the Chinese economy has been skyrocketing of late is because the Chinese government has introduced so many Capitalist reforms.

Don't take my word for it though, catch up on the news for yourself.

If you truly think that the definition of patriotism is to give the Government all of your assets, then why is Senator Obama staying at the Waldorf Astoria, feeding Michelle Obama Iranian Caviar and swimming in millions of dollars.

Why are George Soros, Al Gore, John F. Kerry and Warren Buffet still so filthy rich...

And how can you possibly afford a computer and the Internet.

Just a quick note...
http://usgovinfo.about.com/library/weekly/aa031200a.htm

Congress: Rank-and-File Members' Salary
The current salary (2008) for rank-and-file members of the House and Senate is $169,300 per year.

Congress: Leadership Members' Salary (110th Congress)
Leaders of the House and Senate are paid a higher salary than rank-and-file members.Senate Leadership
Majority Leader - $188,100
Minority Leader - $188,100 House Leadership
Speaker of the House - $217,400
Majority Leader - $188,100
Minority Leader - $188,100 A cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) increase takes effect annually unless Congress votes to not accept it.

President's Salary
Effective January 1, 2001, the annual salary of the president of the United States was increased to $400,000 per year, including a $50,000 expense allowance.

Vice President's Salary

ALL of them have other income, including Speakers/Lecture Fees, Stocks, Bonds, Business', etc. SO...If they vote in this tax increase, a goodly number of them are going to be PAYING that tax as well, including Obama and McCain.

Sanity, do you have any idea how high of an income the top 1% of the country earns?

Do you think that tax rate should be the same as one earning 100k ?

And consider ALL the loopholes the monied crowd has into the grid.

If serious action was immanent to  stop wall street types from re-shuffling companies to bleed them dry,  the national guard would be shutting off all of our computers.

Do you support the eradicating of laws which allow multinationals to trade loses to escape true taxation?

Okay.... help me out here.  First Obama is a dirty socialist out to Robin Hood us all into equality.  Now he's a dirty capitalists out to wine and dine him and his feel good friends and family.  Which is it?  You're blowing with the wind baby.  Your assertions are contradicting their condradictions.

There are lots of tax free havens around the world that are very safe places to put money.  Now, if you don't want to do that, sell everything, buy gold, silver, and precious stones.  They will always be in demand even if the whole world's monetary system comes tumbling down those items will still have worth.  After all the gold standard was around for years. And in ancient times those were the coins of old.

Okay I will attempt o answer your rather absurd questions.
1)idn't DomKen debunk this the other day,yes he did,he explained that they were at the Al Smith Dinner as was John McCain(don't know about Cindy,don't care)
2)Simple question and it deserves a simple answer....this is America...and despite what your favorite neo-con talking head on the radio says...it is quite easy to stay rich in America,the rich do it all the time.
3) excuse me ,but my personal finances are really none of your business,I will tell you this, as a true blue American....I would never think of sending my money out of the country to avoid paying my tax bill...and that is about all I have to say about that

Fast Reply:
If anyone would care to check the record.  Unemployment has been typically 25 to 30% higher under Republicrats than under the Demopubs.  If my memory serves me right the Republicrats have been in power for 20 of the past 28 years.
The author of the plot to steal 700 billion dollars from the taxpayers and give it to the bankers was hatched by a Republicrat who was appointed by king george.  It is jejune in the extreme to blame anyone except the perpetrators of this fiasco.
When insanity is called sanity then clearly the lunatics have taken over the asylum.

The bailout is one thing, without credit everything would collapse and so that's why there's been such agreement between Democrats and Republicans in pushing the 700 billion through.

But regarding this crisis it's interesting how you're casting lunatic asylum stones as it is the Democrats who are squarely to blame for this current mess.

And remember - you heard it here first.

No no no. It's stop taxing the average person, who spent four years in college and is busting her/his ass for what should be a good salary, but in fact translates into nothing more than stretching it from paycheck to paycheck, so that her/his taxes can subsidise the insanely rich. I don't see what's wrong with that :-) .

You`re mixing issues,as usual.

The 700 Billion,the ransom for the hostage and one issue.
We can`t blame the victims for paying the ransom.

Now,the crime,the destruction of our credit markets and allowing banks to speculated on Wall Street,and real issue.

That, can be laid at the feet of deregulation and BushCo.(the neo-cons)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Has anyone noticed how much energy the cons are putting into "sharing" the blame for this mess?
The voters are see`n correctly though.
Are you suggesting that it was only Demopub bankers that made fradulant loans?  Are you suggesting that it was only the Demopubs that insured these fradulant loans?  Are you suggesting that only Demopubs made out fradulant loan applications?
If this is true how did you find out?
BTW Kittin how many of these right wing posters do you figure are actually rich enough to benefit from Republican leadership.My guess is not many....that would mean the majority of them are voting against their own interest simply because they bought the talking points hook ,line and sinker.BTW,if your confused,just ask I will try to clear up any confusion I have caused....
