... and whether candidates are swindlers or not remains to be proven.

Answer a few simple questions, and you'll know whether the candidates are swindlers.

A.)  Is the candidate running for Political Office?
B.)  Is the candidate Alive/Breathing?
C.)  Is the candidate Speaking?

If you answered "Yes" to at least 2 of these questions, then your candidate is a crook, swindler, cheat, and lowlife.

You know, it is our own cynicism that brings us to the point of billion dollar campaigns. We trust no one that wishes to serve in public office? We think of them as crooks and swindlers? We always want someone other than the 2 we have to choose from? It is amazing that anyone runs at all. I honestly believe(strictly opinion) that this year we do have a distinct choice of candidates as opposed to Bush v Kerry. I also believe that the candidates will always spend the allowable or what they are capable of getting others to donate. Federal funding isn't realistic at present nor do many of us check that box on our taxes to donate to the Federal Election fund. We are a Representative republic so therefore if you don't like the candidates or the system perhaps more involvement is what it takes? It is easy to take shots at the system and tough to change it unless we all become involved.  Work for your 3rd party, work for your choice or work within the system to change it!

thank you.  actually, this slave didn't post about not trusting ANYONE who runs for public office.  this slave believes that there are folks who would do a bang up job, for instance, the ones who would push to make industrial hemp a legal resource again(talk about change!!!)...they just don't happen to run on the Republicrat ticket.

it might take another Revolution for folks to pull their heads out of their asses and finally recognize the Republicrat illusion of "change" for what it is---business as usual---not that this slave would publicly support such an endeavor.

sorry beth, it wasn't a response to you  it just happens that I stopped and wrote after I had read one of your postings.
Wherever I stop it automatically assumes I am responding as opposed to just writing.

I think, come 2012, the republicans will start to catch up when it comes to this "series of tubes" known as the internet. Perhaps by then, they will be able to accept $5, $10 and $50 dollar donations from their base as well. At that point, it may become a whole other ballgame... the amount of money being raised very probably WILL be considered a type of poll/indicator for how well a candidate is doing with the electorate.

Literally, it could become a case of "putting our money where our mouth is."

thank you.  this slave was speaking to the 1 and a half billion that has been contributed, collectively, to the Republicrat campaign, not the illusion that there are indeed two seperate and distinctive parties that compete against each other.
this slave predicts it will be more of the same in 2012 when they push for another Republicrat to hold office, just more wasted $$$.  this slave sees no fundamental "change" from either Republicrat candidate, from their campaign methods to their empty promises of "change", the only one being that one of them will "change" their address to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW.

Dems want to make sure every vote is counted while the Repubs want to see every voted counted accurately. We saw this in play in Florida in 2000.

You mean like in Volusia County, FL in 2000 when Al Gore became the first candidate in history to receive a negative vote count.

Not only were Republicans able to vote for George Bush they apparently were also able to cast a seperate ballot against Al Gore enabling this historic breakthrough in election science.
