LadyEllen -> RE: Joe The Plumber Thread (10/30/2008 6:54:27 PM)

I have to say that I can only conclude that the way his campaign is being conducted is a deliberate attempt at throwing the election such that Obama will win and have this incredible mess to try to clear up - and to be blamed for when its little better four years from now. Quite simply, its incredible how rubbish his campaign is - literally unbelievable as the supposed product of such an experienced man and presumably a professional campaign team behind him.

sorry puella.....tell the truth....Joe appeared on stage with McCain later that day.  he was eating at a local diner when he missed his cue to come onstage.  Joe is making appearances with McCain, just like Tito the Builder is appearing with Palin.  it is funny and nice to laugh once in awhile, especially now.

it is true that Joe has hired a manager and may be getting a record deal.  he has many job offers and it seems his 15minutes of fame may pay off for him.

oh did you mention that Joe has no privacy now.  his state income tax records were pulled, his records was pulled  to see if he owed child support and then he caught people rummaging through his trash.  oh and Joe was planning to vote for Obama, but after all the invasion into his privacy (which was done to discredit him and make him seem like a bad person for asking a question), he decided to vote for McCain.

Sorry b... I didn't post originally about the joe not showing up thing... I didn't see the whole speach (I think I may have mentioned that I have not been watching his speeches the last few days as they are the same one recycled over and over... You will know their names, etc etc).

I also have little sympathy for Joe...  the reasons for which have been hashed and rehashed and  idea of which, in my opinion, probably needs to die a quick death...it's kinda hard for a media whore to complain about his lack of privacy...

Anyhoo!....

bestbabync -> RE: Joe The Plumber Thread (10/30/2008 7:10:50 PM)

puella

Joe's privacy has been invaded by Ohio government officials, not the press.  they found government computers were used to look at his tax records etc.

You really should not attack someone, make outrageous charges, for no reason other than you disagree with his politics.  Do you know anything about this man?  Do you know that he has worked for over 13 years as a plumber under the license of a Master Plumber...was in the process of buying his bosses business and working on taking his Master Plumber test...in other words, fulfilling the American Dream...However, he "dared" to embarass Obama with a "question"...and even Keith Olberman is having one of his gurly fits because Joe is apparently gonna write a book and getting an agent.  God Bless him... I hope he gets a million dollar advance.  Joe's experience gives you some idea what we are in for if you disagree publically with the Messiah from Chicago's south side.  You can have your tax documents searched, your drivers license data taken from State of Ohio data banks, and on and on.....

Big Brother is coming...and he is watching  YOU! Some joke..eh!

Care to document any of that?

Because I live up here with good 'ole Joe, so naturally our newspapers have taken a special interest in the story.

He has no license, period.  Which means he wasn't working as a plumber, he was working as a plumber's helper.

Thirteen years?  The apprenticeship requirement in Ohio for a plumber's license is five years.  So he must be really planning to ace that test with the extra eight years of studying, huh?

His "bosses business"(sic) consists of his boss and "not" Joe.  Their have also been questions raised about whether his boss is legally licensed.

We won't even mention the fact that Joe can't even come up with the cash to pay his back taxes much less finance a business.

puella -> RE: Joe The Plumber Thread (10/30/2008 7:18:33 PM)

Yes, and as I said previously, if anyone did something illegal to obtain information, they should be prosecuted.

However, his licensing issue and the tax liens are public information.

Anyway, that has all been discussed in this topic before...well it might have been in the other thread that sort-of got hijacked by Joe the Plumber, hence the creation of the Joe the Plumber thread.

How is that for confusing![:D]

I've got nothing against Joe.

What I have a problem with is two things.

First, people who somehow hold Obama responsible for throwing him into the spotlight.  Joe asked a question and Obama answered.  It wasn't newsworthy until the McCain camp decided to use him as a campaign issue.  McCain even made a public apology for putting Joe in that position.  I believe on Letterman.  Despite the apology, McCain continues to milk Joe for all he's worth.

The second problem I have is that the points McCain is trying to make are factually inaccurate.  None of what he has said about Joe is true.  And it's been proven not to be true over and over.  Yet McCain keeps spouting the same tired, desperate lies.

About your tag line, "Jesus was a community organizer.Pontius Pilate was a governor."

Are you claiming that Barack Obama is Jesus?

And that Sarah Palin killed Jesus?

Or what's your point.

How about "Cuba got "change" in 1959"?

Are you claiming that Obama is a communist revolutionary guerilla leader whose plan is to mount an armed insurrection?

I heard "Joe the middle-east expert/plumber" wasn`t even told about the event.

It`s like the Keystone Cops are running McCain`s cagmpain.

This fake outrage over "Joe the Rockstar" is getting a little thin.

No one believes he`s being treated unfairly.

Shame on the press for exposing a liar and scammer.Shame!

I`m pretty sure you get my meaning. But I`ll treat you like the guy who needs jokes explained.

The "Jesus was a community organizer" is a dig at Palin(and neo-cons) for her(their) demeaning comments about Obama`s work as a community organizer. The way the right talks about that, you`d think Barack sold bean pies on the corner or was a street hustler.

When Palin demeaned Barack`s contribution to his community, she demeaned every hospital, dog shelter,food-bank,soup-kitchen,United Way,Red-Cross,volunteer or non-profit worker in America.

Remember Bush Sr. 1000 points of light?Well Barack became one of those points of light, and all the conservatives can come up with is to put Obama down for it.

When my mom,(who isn`t political) heard Sarah`s comments at the GOP convo ,about "also being a community organizer, but w/ responsibility"(para-phrasing),she said Palin was a smart ass(not in the good way).

Even she thought McPalin was being mean and nasty.Which told me regular folks might see it that way too.I was right.

The "Pontius Pilate was a governor." line is a reminder that just being a governor is no panacia.

Another dig at Palin.

K?

Cory may have answered it to your satisfaction but he failed to address the fact that Cuba has attained 100% literacy under Castro...A level of literacy that is not present in Idaho or the rest of the U.S.
The patient to doctor  ratio is 170 to 1 in Cuba which is the best in the world while it is over 350 to 1 in the U.S. and considerably higher in Idaho.
Just what is it about the "change" in Cuba that disturbs you enough to cause you to post it in each of your posts?
It is clear from any scale that you might wish to use that Cubans are better off under Castro than at any time in the history of Cuba.  Would you prefer that we return them to a U.S. sponsored dictator like Batista that Castro evicted from office?

~FR~

Would have been more fun if Joe had wanted to buy the sex shop/strip club where he worked.

Sanity -> RE: Joe The Plumber Thread (10/31/2008 1:27:58 PM)

Ha, the problem we have in Idaho isn't people trying to escape, it's too many people from the People's Republic of California moving in!

We have absolutely no shortage of doctors here, either - and we have ample electricity for all the modern medical equipment, as well as the equipment itself 24/7/365.

You can't say that about Cuba OR California.

And if there truly is 100% literacy under Fidel that has to mean that the people there are prisoners because there will always be those who would choose to fail if they were free. People who would rather go fishing than study books...
