ThatDaveGuy69 -> RE: Joe The Plumber Thread (10/31/2008 3:32:38 PM)

I will be SO glad when Tuesday is over so we can be rid of Joe the Plumber, Reverend Wright, and all the other ancilary figures we can all do much better without ever hearing from again!

It seems that Joe really should have kept his mouth shut and read the web sites of the 2 candidates.  Not because Obama - or McCain - shouldn't be questioned, they should, ala the Inquisition!  Joe should have stayed quiet because he seems to have a bunch of skeletons in his closet.  He inserted himself onto the political landscape and we all know from a million past examples how people will turn on you.  The press jumped on him because of the way Obama answered Joe's question.  Once the press is on your trail you're pretty much screwed.  And then it seems an Obama supporter with access to a state computer did a little digging and found all sorts of stuff.  Public records not withstanding, she had no right to do that and should be disciplined by her employer.

What this whole episode comes down to is politics as usual.  Whether Joe was a McCain plant or just some schlub who got on camera, this sort of thing happens all the time to greater and lesser degrees.  Let's got over it and move on.

You are mistaken.  Please allow me to disabuse you of your ignorance.
The patient doctor ratio in Idaho is 625:1.  Mexico and Venezuela are both at 500:1 and Idaho is  just ahead of North Korea at 700:1.

And if there truly is 100% literacy under Fidel that has to mean that the people there are prisoners because there will always be those who would choose to fail if they were free.

You live in a different world than I do.  Why would someone choose to be ignorant?  Why would someone choose to fail?

slvemike4u -> RE: Joe The Plumber Thread (10/31/2008 6:20:49 PM)

Well, according to Merc the choosing to fail question is easy......to avoid paying Obama's socialist punitive tax's.Of course I'm not buying that particular argument, just trying to help here.

Sanity -> RE: Joe The Plumber Thread (10/31/2008 6:29:27 PM)

So you're an expert on Idaho, and you've likely never been here.

Sounds typical...

I live here, I visit doctors here, I know that there is very little waiting time to see a doctor - less than an hour most days, and you can just walk right in with no appointment. We have free clinics where you can just go in off the street and be seen relatively quickly. It may be that Mexicans or Venezuelans need more doctors because they're unhealthy due to poverty and poor diets, or any number of things...

Whatever the case may be, you would be wise to quit lecturing us about Idaho until you actually know something about it.

Well, just like Joe the plumber, we're not real big here on trading in our rights and our jobs for government handouts, so I'd have to say that the odds are slim to none. Have you visited Obama's tax calculator page yet to find out how much he's offering to pay you for your vote?

Yeah... what's your vote worth, in dollars... visit that website to find out.   [:'(]

Dave
you know what?  not asking enough questions is what got us in this mess!  if the people would ask questions and learn about each candidate's background including their political careers there would be a simple and easy choice for each voter to make.  the media & pundits are making money off of our laziness and lack of desire to do the research ourselves.  therefore we are stuck with it until (hopefully) shortly after November 4th.
Joe did what i did when i got the chance, ask a candidate a question.  i met Sarah Palin 3 weeks ago and the first thing i did was ask her a question!

Certain people claim you can't do that unless you're ready to have your whole life turned upside down. Well, maybe it's okay to ask REPUBLICANS questions...

But not Democrats.

Sanity,of all your previous post's some of which I found personally offensive this has to take the cake.Where do you get off telling anyone they have sold their vote....I will speak for myself here and tell you in the plainest words I possibly can,my vote isn't for sale...you know what else my vote isn't...it isn't open to question from you or anyone else as to how I arrived at it.Your comfortable with your vote,I'm comfortable with mine....one man one vote and no need to explain to any other...that's how it works Sanity whether you like it or not.

Sanity -> RE: Joe The Plumber Thread (10/31/2008 7:08:20 PM)

It would be much more effective for you to complain about this low-down dirty tactic to Obama - as it's his website, he's the one trying to purchase votes (using other people's money).

Obama thinks your vote is for sale... go figure out what he's offering you for it.

Then call 'em up and give 'em hell!!!

According to those with the conservative mindset, folks will be paying more in taxes under Obama......

Now you`re implying that folks will vote based on paying less.

So which is it?

slvemike4u -> RE: Joe The Plumber Thread (10/31/2008 7:14:21 PM)

Not true Sanity and you know it....Tell me something when McCain promises to lower everyone's taxes(how the fuck you do that with this deficit is another question) is he offering to buy everyone's vote. What is your vote going for these days?

Sanity -> RE: Joe The Plumber Thread (10/31/2008 7:21:15 PM)

The difference with McCain is, he's not promising to tax someone else MORE in order to give away money. That's why the original "Joe the plumber" video was so disturbing - Obama went into Joe's neighborhood literally promising people that he will "spread the wealth" if he's elected. Wealth redistribution = money for votes.

I think you're finally starting to understand the outrage, and that's good.

my vote is worth jobs for everyone!  wouldn't you agree Sanity?

ThatDaveGuy69 -> RE: Joe The Plumber Thread (10/31/2008 7:25:43 PM)

I'd like to know which religion Senator Obama adheres to:
Is it Christianity, ala Reverend Wright?
Or is he a Muslim?

Ya know what? I don't really care.  Just so long as his God never once speaks directly to him.

Senator McCain lost a wonderful opportunity to make himself shine when someone at one of his rallies shouted out that Obama is a Muslim.  McCain COULD have shot down the heckler and explained that there is no room for that sort of bigotry.  Instead, he soft-pedaled that Senator Obama is a good Christian family man.  What - there aren't any good Muslim family men?  I could have voted for Senator McCain in 2000, back when he still had a pair.  But 8 years of cow-towing to the GOP pupeteers so he could be their nominee this time around seems to have removed every last drop of testosterone in the man.  I wonder how soon after he loses the election his trophy-wife leaves him.  It would be an interesting turn of Karma for the way he shit on his 1st wife.
