ORIGINAL: Kirata In my family we wouldn't let a beloved aunt live forgotten in squalor, "apparent" or otherwise. I know that new concepts can be hard to grasp at first, but I hope that helps. K. [/size] One never knows. My beloved aunt - a remarkable woman, in fact - has a beloved daughter who was living in her car for a period of time. The family "let her" because she is bi-polar and won't take her meds but will take whatever drug is offered, and she was dragging her family down with her in her own depression. A grown woman who abuses the help given to her, who has become such a drain on her family (financial and emotional) that there is nothing anyone can do to help her but allow her to hit her own rock bottom. After doing all they possibly could to help her, they realized their help was only enabling her to continue down her destructive path. At some point, you have to let go, even if you truly love the person. We don't know about this aunt, and therefore cannot possibly assume anything about her, one way or another.
