ORIGINAL: everhope i think it has to do with simple manners. if i were to meet you in person, i would be introduced to you by your name. now out in the scene, yes that may be handle and i would address you as you introduced yourself to me. i think it became a pet peeve today because i recieved an e-mail today from someone who i have exchanged a few emails with and first he did not address me by my name and second he asked some personal questions. i realized he had not even found me trustworthy of knowing his first name, but expected me to devulge personal things about myself. perhaps, i am old fashioned when it comes to manners. may we all find our bliss. Yeh, like that. I usually wait until someone has given me their real name, before giving mine. Occasionally i offer mine first, usually to persons who post on the forums, and by then we have exchanged a few mails. But manners are nice. I rarely answer a first mail that asks personal questions, or has no salutation or signature. manxy
