Is being bi more in fashion do you think? Or is it that more and more people are becoming more open with their expressions of sexuality?

C-D

I think it's both. The chicks who do it to be trendy are so annoying, though...

As for me, I've been into girls for as long as I can remember. I have been in one serious relationship with a woman and dated several casually. I used to think that I could have a woman as my primary partner, but I've determined that I need the dominance, which I will only accept from a man, so for that reason women are secondary partners for me, though not necessarily 'playthings.' I would place somewhere between the 2 and 3 on the Kinsey scale.

For those of us within this lifestyle that are bi.... are you truly comfortable with someone the same sex as your self? Would you have a relationship with someone the same sex? or is it something you would do to please your Dominant?

Despite your question's assumption that the respondant is submissive, I will say that I am completely comfortable with someone the same sex.  In fact, I prefer a female sub (I'm the D-type) and I specifically came here looking for a female partner.  I've found a wonderful girl.  She's all I hoped for.

i hate "bi-curious" women.

Bi-curious means "i'm not really into chicks, but you can go down on me and get me off....
btw, don't expect me to reciprocate with any level of enthusiasm."

been there, done that a few too many times.

Or they are doing it to point score. I never go near the bi curious.

satyrsnymph28 -> RE: Being Bi within this lifestyle (11/5/2008 12:47:28 AM)

I consider myself  "gender indifferent".

I'm not bi, necessarily, nor am I completely heterosexual.
I don't recognize gender as a factor.  Whether there's a penis or a vagina is of no concern to me.

Someone I get along with is just that, gender aside.

I tend to have more male partners, but I would welcome females just the same.

Within the lifestyle, it has never had anything to do with what my dominant wanted.  It was a nice addition to our life to be able to include another female if that was what we both wished... my vanilla partner looks at my gender indifference as a huge plus, and one of the reasons he's kept me around so long (giggles) because I'm sure he feels like he can have his cake and eat it too.

Anyway, It's not about what the dominant partner wants.  It's about who I am.

Speaking only for myself, as a dominant (and straight) male, I have never and would never want my slave to partake of anything sexual with anyone other than me simply to "please" me.  I neither encourage nor discourage my slave where her sexuality is concerned, other than to express her true nature, however it is.

So long as she continues to believe I'm God's gift to women, it's all good! [8D]

I've been bi for my entire life... even before my parents thought I should know anything about sex. However, up until about 15 years ago, a lot of bi individuals didn't declare themselves 'bi'. I categorized myself as 'lesbian' when I was in a poly all-female triad in college, and 'straight', when I was, later on, in a straight, mono marriage, by choice. When I came to the household I am still in, though, there was no real designation to use -but- bi.. or, as I used to say, "ambisexterous"... because those whom I came to love were of both genders, and both in the same household... so what do you do with that?

I think that some of us older people who may be bisexual may choose to define themselves via the relationship(s) that they are currently involved in or active with, rather than trying to explain our sexually ambiguous nature.

candystripper -> RE: Being Bi within this lifestyle (11/5/2008 7:17:18 AM)

Huh. So I probably have met many bisexuals and just no one who felt safe revealing that about themselves.

Makes me feel sad to think so many people were suffering and I did not know.  One of my close friends was closeted as a gay man and outted by a business rival.  The consequences to him of being outted were not as dire as he had feared but what a hellish experience it was for him.  I never knew what it was like to be fearful someone will discover my sexual orientation -- not  really -- till I found D/s and had a 'secret' I needed to keep from the 'world' about what kind of 'woman' I really am.  It sucks in ways I had not imagined when I was just empathising with another.

Do you mean close family and friends who would reveal their sexuality to you?  'cause otherwise most people don't walk around saying 'Hi, my name is Jane, and I'm bi...'

For those that have in a profile 'bi curious' Is it mainly because Master/Dominant wants a 3rd party and your willing to go along with that or is it that you genuinly crave to have sex with someone the same sex as yourself?

I like to have sex with people of both genders.  But my primary relationship could not be a same sex relationship, though I could have a secondary relationship with someone of the same sex.

And I was curious long before I was in a M/s relationship, he just pushed me into fufilling that desire.

It seems that more females are bisexual them males...or am I wrong?

Don't you have to be bi-curious before you actually do it with some one.
With most things you become curious/interested first.

No. Were you straight-curious before you were straight?

to proof my right...yes :P
hahaha

(ok..no)

colouredin -> RE: Being Bi within this lifestyle (11/5/2008 8:31:46 AM)

no you dont have to be bi-curious, sometimes things like that come without you ever thinking about it before

MAMandSlave -> RE: Being Bi within this lifestyle (11/5/2008 8:40:41 AM)

It is interesting that the individuals who have responded as bi tend to be females. I am Bi, having dated only men until I was 18, then starting to date women. I find I meet far more women than men that I am attracted to, and self identify as bisexual with a female preference, which is nice, because that is sort of where my girl is as well..:) bisexual female preference.

LoveDomme49 -> RE: Being Bi within this lifestyle (11/5/2008 11:02:12 AM)

I have relationships with men, however I will never turn down the opportunity to play with a girl.  Playing with a girl is just different...not necessarily better...but different. There are aspects of both men and women submissives that I enjoy.

I have to say that I never 'suffered', per se. Honestly, I grew up in a time and a place (in rural Upstate NY) where people didn't really talk about alternative sexuality, and they didn't discuss things like being gay -- I happened to read about it in one of the -many- 'forbidden' books I managed to get my hands on as a young person, but when I started college, I was younger than the rest of my class by nearly 2 years, and came from "Hicksville" (ok, not quite... Hicksville was a lot more urbane than the town I grew up in, though they were only about 300 miles apart and in the same state![;)]).

I never felt like I was betraying my nature -- I was what I was, no matter what it was called. I started calling myself 'ambisexterous' after my marriage ended, because being 'bi' seemed a whole lot less fun than what I actually was -- someone who just enjoyed the people I allowed to get close enough to me to matter (probably because there weren't that many of them, so I never really got bored with just enjoying them), and was willing and able to adapt to either end of the humanity spectrum. I blame it on piano lessons, and all that emphasis on making sure both hands were equally strong, flexible, and that each hand could do its own thing at the same time without tangling up my brain too much! Gorgias -> RE: Being Bi within this lifestyle (11/5/2008 3:01:00 PM)

I am indeed comfortable with being with both sexes, but given the paucity of female dominants, my relationships have so far been exclusively gay.

HornyToadsMI -> RE: Being Bi within this lifestyle (11/5/2008 6:21:45 PM)

I agree, JD.

I am on other websites (our other lifestyle) and my fav are the women who are 'bi curious' or 'socially bi'.  Ugh....it is like being a little pregnant!  Just cuz I am bi, it doesnt mean I will do any woman that "cums down the pike".  LOL.

But, I would love to be Dominated by a woman....it would be a turn on.  Usually I am in the Domme seat with women.  So a role reversal would be fun.

(instead of clinical, straight-leaning or opertunistically bi?)

HornyToadsMI -> RE: Being Bi within this lifestyle (11/5/2008 6:26:08 PM)

No, I just think that less men are AC/DC or are less willing to admit they might like to have an evening with another guy.  To be honest, it is against the Macho Man Complex!  Not something a guy would discuss with his buddies over chips and salsa watching football.......

For women, it is more accepted to be with another woman......hell, that is a prefence in most porn.....

One of my best friends in the swinger lifestyle told me "Never trust a woman to is bi from the waist up".  LOL.

Socially bi means "I am only doing his to please my husband/boyfriend".
