Gladly!

And I couldn't resist poking at you---personally I loves the banter, the more the merrier!

I don't do banter, Lady H.  I'm British.

It's just me showing my age.  It was a 'tag line' from an old TV show.  The gutsy southern waitress would always say "Kiss my grits" instead of something more vulgar.

----  But my Popcorn is made now... I'll go back to my old black & white Dracula movie.  Y'all have fun.

If you saw the weather we get, you'd not do much either, Lady H.

Hey, I've been there, remember?  I would have LOTS to do.  Once in Florida, my mom took off on one of her beach walks, for HOURS and it turned out that she had met up with a lady from Brighton, and they were commiserating about the weather.  Evidently it's not so great living by the sea if it is just grey and churny.

OK, I'll google "churny".  I honestly think you Americans are getting me back for using so much Brit slang when I first joined.  But, yes, the weather here drives us all up the wall and always has.  It's forever overcast or raining, so the sun barely gets through.  On the plus side, apparently it's the sun's rays that are the main cause of the ageing of the skin.  That's why my own skin is the texture of fine porcelain even at the age of 93, and why you Americans can only weep in wonder and envy.

Ha!  I made up "churny" right on the spot!  I deserve my own dictionary, really.

The weather in Detroit, Seattle, and  much of the UK is virtually identical, give or take an ice storm.  It keeps me young and vital and silky smooth, though, so who am I to complain?  After all, I live and work inside.

"Grits" are a traditional Southern USA breakfast food made of ground corn, boiled and served much like oats or wheat.  However, grits are normally served with butter, salt, ham/bacon drippings or sweeteners like jelly, honey or sugar.  Some people mix them into their scrambled eggs.  I've even seen some people put ketchup on them.... but that's rather odd.

In this case, "Kiss my grits" is a more polite and comical way to say "Kiss my ass."  Capisca?

"Capisca" is a kind of coffee, right?

Gertcha, Ms S.  Do me a lemon, I know you're pulling me leg.  You must think I'm a proper Charlie.

[Go on, get googling.  You've forced me to enough times!]

I don't have to.  I enjoy watching enough BBC to get the gist of it.

"Capisca" is Italian for Understand.
(I had to go look up how to spell it.  So I may still have it wrong.)

I did some voluntary work in a charity shop once, LPs.  Dealing with undies was nothing compared to skirts.  Especially pleated skirts.  A hundred or more creases to iron.  I spent nearly two hours on one once.  Merry hell.

I hope this doesn't drop you in trouble.  God forbid that LP will see this post and go straight out tomorrow to buy a pleated skirt!

Those little nylon tabs inside of panties and other fine lingerie … don’t they often advise "hand wash"? And, it’s not just the washing, the drying is equally important to retain the shape and elasticity. First you very gently wring out the garment, then you roll it in a clean fluffy towel and wring it out again. After the towel absorbs the bulk of the remaining moisture, you place the garment flatly and smoothly on another towel to finish drying.

Folding a bra is simple. Fold one cup into the other then tuck the straps and bands into the inner pocket. Bras should then be put away arranged either by color or by type (underwire, demi-cup, seamless, push up, etc.) Bra and panty sets should be folded and put away together, obviously.

As far as dainty frillies being only for 15 year olds … what is so bad about being a 15 year old again? The blush and joy of youth are beautiful and happy things. Too often when one matures from being a girl into a woman, one needlessly leaves the joy and excitement of being a girl behind. The seriousness of maturity may be a necessary burden, but it need not be a constant burden. I think one of the priority jobs of a sissy is to remind her Lady that being a woman is not only a privilege, but also a joy. Sometimes, dainty frillies can do that. (Of course, being a French Creole, I’ll never understand the Anglo-American fascination with being practical, rather than passionate.)

And finally, I have to admit, I’m surprised by the reactions here. Personally, I have yet to me the Lady who has not graciously and gratefully accepted my offer to hand wash her dainties? Of course it helps that she knows that I really know what I’m doing. But then, why not? (Like we say in New Orleans, anything worth doing is worth doing to excess.)

Les Cenelles was a book of poetry written in honor of women and published in French, in New Orleans in 1840. The title, Les Cenelles, meant hollyberries and refered to the poems as small, but sincere offerings. For me, hand washing a Lady's danties is the same thing ... a small, but sincere offering of myself from what I am, to what she is. Maybe it's just a creole thing ... but it still surprises me more people don't get it.

Au Beau Sexe…

Veuillez bien accepter ces modestes Cenelles
Que notre coeur vous offre avex sincérité ;
Qu’un seul regard tombé de vos chastes prunelles
Leur tienne lieu de gloire et d’immortalité.

… from Les Cenelles.

This is why I buy Victoria's Secret classic black thongs two dozen a year, and 3 lightcolored pairs for those days I want to wear something light colored. Machine washable, comfy, no tags, no binding, no tugging. yes,  bra's get handwashed ( damn dry cleaner won't do them)
