Right FDD,no implyed sarcasm in your OP,just natural curiousity and a legitimate question
If the (slave) protests too much, perhaps it is from exposure to many of your previous post's,in which you asked other "legitimate" questions....and put forth other "legitimate" arguments tinged with your own  nuanced way of being "fair and balanced"

Obama will have a plan to get us out

Well, he's already met with the Iraqi president, who told him he wanted the troops out on a timetable (contradicting Bush's account), which forced Bush to start taking out some troops and sending them to Afghanistan--as Obama and commanders have been saying is needed.

The Afghanistan/Pakistan mess is more complicated, but as Bush/Rumsfeld mostly ignored commanders, and Obama seems ready to listen to them, that alone is an improvement, and can only help in both the long and short run.

Listening to Powell alone would have prevented this mess---the Pottery Barn philosophy (you break it you own it), and the Powell Doctrine (go in with overwhelming force) for example.

But Bush has seriously weakened our armed forces, and we can't continue this way. We can't afford it either.

Why,exactly, are we in Afghanistan? Or any of the other 40 odd countries around the world?
Bring em home let all of "those" folks solve their own problems.  The U.N. is the worlds police force not the U.S.  That is one of the reasons the U.N. was formed.

So much for voting on a candidate's record.

Perhaps you could wait and see how he does?

As long as there is a hard, negotiated, sensible, total exit date.

I would like to see no reduction in troop strength until the day we leave...then leave all at once with all our equipment.

I hope we don't slowly reduce strength over years...That would just put our boys and girls at risk.

Maybe I am not the one you should be asking that question.
We have been there for what...7 years or so?
The national guard, the CIA the army ,the special forces, the marines just about everybody except the fucking Texas rangers and the Micky mouse club.  We have satellites we have the predator and yet we cant seem to find the baby in the fucking bathtub...why come?
So far bush&co have cost the taxpayers a ton of money because some "boggy man" done fucked us in the butt while we was sleepn'.
I ain't buying this shit.
I see it as just a scam to keep us playing the game.  Perhaps if we quit fucking with people they might not hate us so much.
Look what happened in Viet Nam...we went home and guess what?  We do 2 billion dollars a year in trade with them and there is KFC and Micky D in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city...everyone loves each other.  Hell they even have tourist tours for old soldiers to go see the places they almost died.
I call bullshit on this whole "war on terror".

At this point I just hope he can keep the American people better in the loop about what's really going on. I'm tired of the political wing of the White House filtering all our government information.

Yeah!
It's been two fuckin' days now and nothing!
And he needs to cut off that "rebuilding" moneyu crap too and use it in the U.S.

President Bush has been in office 8 years and has not done much of note, except
being one of the worse Presidents in US history.
The inauguration is not until January, people are already expecting miracles?

What has to be negotiated?
Call up MATS and tell them bring the planes.
Bring the troops from the outside to the inside.
Get on the planes and wave goodbye.
Tell Haliburton and blackwater to go fuck themselves.
It just ain't that hard.

Answer = Money Ego Resources Ignorance A False Sense Of Power........History has a spooky way of repeating itself and when it does, the empire always learns too late.
"Those" folks probably appreciate your efforts (without predjudice)
The UN are (apart from not being police) toothless.

Also ..there are more than 40 "odd" countries around the world, did you include Britain and the US ?

Music, I agree, we all need to give Obama a chance, he isn't even president yet.
And I hope he's the *best president* we've had in a long time.
I'm just praying that he's not going to go "Cum-bay-ah" on us and start that "amnesty" for illegals!
If he does it'll be a long 4 years and I'll turn on him in a N.Y. minute.
We've had *eight years* of our immigration laws not being enforced by that POS Bush.
There are two Border Patrol Agents in prison on trumped up charges for doing their jobs. (Ramos and Campeon.)
All so that Bush's friends could make more money by using cheap, illegal labor and in the process push wages for working people down to unlivable levels!
That cocksucker Bush should be prosecuted for dereliction of duty for that!
The American People need a break on that.
We broke the senate phone system with all the calls against it.
When a senate staffer tells you that the calls are running "80-1 against" I think the American People have spoken on that one!
It's real easy, a cake walk, just *enforce our laws!*
Then maybe we wouldn't be having college kids in New Jersey killed execution style.
Obama will hamstring himself and alienate most of the country if he tries that "amnesty" shit again.
As for Iraq yes, the Democrats ran in 2006 on getting us out and, more importantly, the Iraqi People want us out!
Do the logistics and get our people out by June 09.
Obama could do a "twofor" and put 50 or 75 thousand of them on that Mexican border!
And Obama should think about getting our Troops out of Japan and S.Korea as well.
It's tremendously expensive to have thousands of Troops in foreign countries!
Do you know how much it costs to run an Air Craft Carrier for one day?
