"This is a wise choice by President-elect Obama. "Rahm knows Capitol Hill and has great political skills. He can be a tough partisan but also understands the need to work together. He is well-suited for the position of White House Chief of Staff. "I worked closely with him during the presidential debate negotiations which were completed in record time. When we hit a rough spot, he always looked for a path forward. I consider Rahm to be a friend and colleague. He's tough but fair. Honest, direct, and candid. These qualities will serve President-elect Obama well. "Rahm understands the challenges facing our nation and will, consistent with the agenda set by President-elect Obama, work to find common ground where it exists. I look forward to working with him in his new position and will continue to do everything I can to help find a pathway forward on the difficult problems facing our nation." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Very conciliatory. I think Graham is doing the right thing and doesn`t go in for the divisive,under-belly,angry-pants mindset. John Boehner`s responce... Mike, I'd like to think that everyone "won" by having Obama as our president! I'd wish the same if McCain had won! I hope that President Obama is the best president we ever had! Anything's a step up from the last two "presidents."

Until recently (before democrats took control),the conservative definition of bi-partisanship was for liberals to agree with and support conservatives.lol That was it,their way or the hi-way.Otherwise you were an obstructionist. Thank god liberals stopped republicans from privatizing Social Security accounts.They would be looted and empty by now. Even in the minority,conservatives think bi-partisanship means agreeing with them. One day maybe they`ll learn to play nicey nice. If the Dems treated the republicans the way cons treated the democrats from 2000 to 2006,they wouldn`t see the light of day,be allowed to hold a hearing or advance legislation.They would be shut out of any process or policy formation.The republican party would be persona non grata,Tom DeLay style. [:D] [:D] Not to worry though.Democrats have a lot more class and maturity for that.....
