How many Cave Men are out there like me. I do not have a cell phone, and I do not want to be nagged wih one. I have a home phone and work contact number, and I can be reached via Sherry's cell phone that is enough for me. I am not seeking, but I still look at others profiles. I see on some profiles of people seeking, the usual requirements of them wanting a picture, a home phone number, maybe web cam access, for face and voice verification. I sometimes now see, if you do not have a cell phone, do not bother. That would exclude me if I was seeking, I have nothing to hide, I just do not want a Cell Phone ringing in my pocket every time I turn around. Just wondering your thoughts on the subject. Its not a complaint or rant.

shrugs I had one in the States, swore by it, loved it and will probably have one again here in Ontario. Lumus, on the other hand, has no desire for one, has never had one and probably will never have one unless something catastrophic happens. Does that mean we cancel each other out in this poll? Rain°

I have a cell, and I ABSOLUTELY despise it. I would throw away all the phones around me if I could...

i've had a cell phone since the early 90's, my son had seizures and i needed to be able to call for help if necessary. i still have one because now that i'm disabled i need to call for help on occasion. cub has a fit if he calls home and i don't answer my phone, he's worried about my safety. PM

I don't want to be one of THOSE people, bitching about their choice not being available in a poll...........sooooooo, I chose have and love. Even though I don't love the thing. It just is what it is. I've had one, with the same number since 1998. I spend alot of time on the road so it is nice to have it along, in case of emergency. The farm has a land line but the ringers are all shut off. Everyone knows to use our cell phones. I keep the land line in case of emergency.

My only phone is a cell phone. When i was on the road, I cancelled my home phone since I only used it 3 days/month on average. I see no reason to get a landline now that I no longer drive the truck. I love being able to be in touch with family & friends whenever & wherever. My phone rarely rings & when I don't want to have it bother me, I turn it off or hit "quiet" or "ignore". That puts me in control of the thing.

red doesn't call me a cavewoman for nothing. i used to hve a cell phone but i don't anymore. i won't get one unless i start driving long distances or traveling. i don't want people to be able to get a hold of me all the time. and if i have to hear another person in line at the grocery store yapping on their phone i'm going to pull my hair out.

I got one the day I was on the road, with my child, I needed help, and couldn't call anyone. Like Miss LaT, I don't "love it"; it's necessary for me as a parent to be reachable. In the last ten years, I have noticed that a whole heck of a lot of people have become very impatient when they cannot reach someone immediately. What happened to the days when we left someone a message on their machine and waited for them to call us back??? Cali

Thank God you have PLENTY of hair to pull out 'cuz you're gonna need it! Freakin annoying little contracptions but I must admit to having one only 'cuz I got rid of my landline & was in blissful seclusion for a couple of weeks then my daughter bought me a phone so I could be on her short leash :)) I don't hate it, but I could definitely live without it if it fell into the river!

Every one ask me, what will I do, if I break down on a long Motorcycle trip. I tell them, I will just use someone's Cell Phone that offers it to me, lol. I never broke down on a trip, but if I pull over on some back road to take pictures, I have had people pull over and ask me if I needed help, and had a Cell to offer. The Motorcycle Community does look out for each other real well, even if they are only driving a car that day.

when i moved to Orange County and it was inevitable that i would be on the freeways, the Dominant who had say in my life required me to get a cell. i have had one ever since. i didn't care to have a landline until i started communicating with a certain MasterMan who was annoyed with all the dropped calls. then i cared about a landline and got one pronto!

I voted for the "have one and love it" category also, although I wouldn't say I necessarily love it. It's more of a necessity, one that I've had since '91 (same # all this time too). I originally got one on my mother's insistance since I was driving a dodge p.o.s. back and forth to school and she didn't want me stuck somewhere if the stupid thing broke down. Now I keep it in case someone should have to reach me for an emergency, like the kids' school or something like that. I'm not one of those types that will talk on it at the supermarket or in a restaurant (9 times out of 10 I'll just ignore it) and I always turn the ringer off on it in the movie theater, etc. I'm more apt to text on it now than I am to talk, although God help me, my mother learned how to text and usually texts me 20 times a day, lol.

I have a clever little mobile phone which stays, most of the time, switched off. When I want to call someone I do. Sometimes I send text messages (not txt msgs). It's a useful little bugger and, when it's resting, switched off, it does not intrude in the slightest.

Hmm I do have a cell and a landline. Until recently I only had the cell believing I could live by that alone. Wrong, with my boys I had to get a landline too many minutes they use. I do love the cell because of the text feature. S O and I text during the day until he is home. My son in Nevada and I text as well. I decided for the cell because I too have to be available at all times for my M/H son and for my father with his heart.
