According to the Webster Illustrated Comtemporary Dictionary: Encyclopedic Edition it breaks down like this:

"dominance" is a noun "The state or condition of being dominant" (i.e., Dominance is a prevailing factor in His household.)

"dominant" is an adjective "Ruling; governing; prevailing." or "Having a masking effect on a contrasting or recessive factor in the genetic endowment of an organism." (i.e., He is a dominant Man. or Brown eye genes are dominant over blue eye genes.) However, in the BDSM community "dominant" is often used (perhaps misused according to the dictionary definition) as a noun (i.e. i seek a Dominant).

"dominantly" is an adverb (i.e., He stands dominantly in His household.)

"dominate" is a verb "To control; govern." or "To have supreme or masterful power or influence over." or "To tower above; loom over..." (i.e. He dominates His submissive/slave.)

I appreciate the correction. I can spell but my grammar can suck. I had originally composed that as 'She/He has a dominant personality' then parsed it to the present form.

Fortunately, my beef was with spelling <whew>
