About "dominant," as a noun, see my earlier post, http://www.collarchat.com/fb.asp?m=2270831 Five dictionaries, including the Random House Unabridged Dictionary, the American Heritage Dictionary, Princeton University's Wordnet, Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary, and the thefreedictionary.com, do not define "dominant" as a noun, in the sense that we are using it here (unless they're talking about us, when they mention organisms in an ecological community ) ; therefore, I don't feel too ill-informed, that I had not run across the definition that plushiecat discovered, in Merriam Webster's (when I looked, it was their medical dictionary, specifically), which is applicable, "a dominant individual, in a social hierarchy." I guess we've misused the word so long, we've coined a term. Regarding "submissive," if you've found it to be defined as a noun, in the sense that we use the word, here, please cite the dictionary source.
