I had that happening a few times, the worst one was the guy who kept asking my partner if I am "his sub" and if he may play with me, then when told by us both that I am not submissive (the crop and the outfit might have given it away anyway, not to mention behaviour) he refused to acknowledge that females can be dominant and tried to drag me off. I was forced to twist his thumb a bit, he did look kinda cute kneeling and cussing...

I guess the answer is simple, there are idiots everywhere...

Sorry .. but once again .. this is not limited to male dominants. If male dominants or doing it, you can bet females are doing it too.

I personally had it happen to me twice at two different play parties in two different states, so I'm sure these two ladies did not know each other.

Personally, I have had a few requests from Dommes for me to dominate them, for whatever reasons. I've declined simply because I'm more interested in a long term relationship rather than a cheap flog and fuck for a day or two. The same thing may have happened to a few men as well, and find that they like that.

Of course, it's quite possible there's a few men out there that fail to have a clue and should be laughed at often. :)
