He MUST hold the record for a Secretary of State submitting his resignation.

I'll bet Reagan and his staff threw a party the night it was finally accepted.

And yet you were comfortable with Palin as VP.....priceless.

First you throw out Hillary's 18 million votes in the primaries, now you drag in Sarah Palin--irrelevancy piled upon irrelevancy.

Wouldn't it be easier (and more satisfying) to actually address the question?

To reiterate:

If you want to argue that she does have the credentials, and that thus playing hardball is fitting, would you care to elaborate those credentials or otherwise justify her position of leverage?

He had to do something with her. She is a person who willing to place her own ambition above the good of the country, and she's a grudge-holding, vindictive bitch. The latter trait is something I want in a negotiator, and the first holds out the hope that she and/or her husband will get caught with a hand in that oh-so tempting cookie jar, and vanish into obscurity, in scandal and disgrace.

That's what I don't get.  Why did he "have" to do something with her?

What is forcing his hand here?

Completely wrong, inaccurate, and incorrect.  The only amateur so far is the doofus at the top.

Asked and answered, Celt.  Read the sentence that follows the one you highlighted.

now that the subject comes up,

does the ruled class care in any way, what the ruled think?

the ruling elite will always need their servants.  that what "you"/I are.  nothing more.

As we've seen from the Dems over the last eight years?  Ya'll set the bar that low, deal with it.

No, it was Bush himself who positionated the bar that low.

After 8 years of Bush(notice I can and do use his name) do you really want to talking about setting the bar low?

No, it's very relevant to your own credibility.

You spent months arguing that Obama was too inexperienced.

Then you argued that experience for Palin wasn't necessary because she could get experience "on the job".

Now you're arguing Clinton doesn't have the experience.

Is it just me or am I sensing a pattern here?

Don't change the subject, Stef.  If the Dems now think they are going to claim some self-righteous position about speaking respect for the office, I plan to spend four years knocking them off the hobby horses, and getting their shining aluminum foil armor all scuffed and dirty.

         Fucking hypocrisy.

How is replying to you changing the subject?  The man's actions are what is responsible for the bar being set so low.  If you want to toss around a blame ball, at least make sure you're tossing it to the right person.

See, this is the kind of logic that just makes you look bitter and cranky.  For what it's worth, I'll wait until someone other than Bush is in the oval office before I start criticizing them for a job they haven't even assumed yet.

The word refers to claiming a set of values and attitudes one does not actually exhibit, Stef.  Like people who have spent eight years either calling the President a chimp and worse, or standing there silently smirking when it happened, suddenly deciding that the occupant of the office deserves an automatic measure of courtesy.

That I happen to agree with that position is irrelevant.  For them it merely a value of convenience.  Hypocrisy.

Perhaps another thread, if this needs to be gone over with links to reporters calling a sitting President a monkey on live television?

I say that Clinton's resume does not fit Secretary of State.  I have said in other threads that she is qualified for Attorney General, Homeland Security, or Commerce, and possibly Health and Human Services as well (nannycare being one of her avowed passions and one of Dear Leader's stupid campaign promises, I would have considered that a more natural alignment of her skills, talents, and experience).

So it is just you.  I don't sell Hillary short at all.  Unlike Dear Leader, she's actually done a few things in her life besides tell people how wonderful she is.  That does not mean she's a good choice for the nation's chief diplomatic post.
