I am one of those annoying morning people ... To get used to your new schedule, get the same amount of sleep you are used to (8 for arguments sake). Then leave yourself just enough time to get up, get dressed, make your lunch (or whatever chores) and get the heck out of the house.  If I lounge about, I don't want to leave when I should.  Particularly when it is cold ... brrr.  And enjoy the morning!!

No lounging about??  What's the point of being a morning person if there's no lounging about in the morning?  I'm a night person & I lounge around a lot at night.  When I worked nights, I would get up 6 hours before work, go to the gym, go out to dinner, watch tv, etc before heading off to work.  I thought that morning people did all that stuff before work too.  Hmmmm...the learning continues.....

When I get up early I have my coffee and browse online until I either have ot leave for work, wake Fox us or head out on my own things during the day. Midmorningis far more conducive to getting things done, so thats when I get out and moving. Today, car emmisions check and a visit to the county clerk and hopefully home before lunch

Well, crap!!  This whole getting up early training just didn't work this week.  I only pulled it off for one day.  I'm hopeless.  Even Oso's obnoxious morning song didn't wake me.  I guess I'll just have to hope that I can wake up in time on Friday.

When I need to get up, I set 6 alarms on 2 phones & the last time I did that, I woke up to the last one only.  I've been known to sleep through major earthquakes.  I nearly slept through the birth of my first baby.  I'm just hopeless.

i sleep through alarms too...  it's 1:15 am and i'm still awake....

where does that second wind come from? i was EXHAUSTED at 9.

i've got a 9am wake up to be on the road for thanksgiving groceries (it's tradition for me to go with my dad, and tomorrow is that morning) and i'm gonna be SOOOO tired...

i do better with Starbucks... getting out the door with something to look forward to tends to give me that little push...

i read somewhere that you should make it so that there's something you really enjoy that happens first thing when you wake up... something to look forward to (but hopefully not so much that it keeps you awake)

supposedly that makes you want to get out of bed...

Linnaea, I'm kinda poking in here and there but ya gotta realize, sis, that some people are just not morning people. If left to my own devices, I'm a morning person naturally meaning that I'll wake up between 5 and 530 am without an alarm clock but it also means that I'm passed out around 10 pm (or earlier some nights). With Lumus, he's a night owl so we stay up later and sleep later when we can unless it's a work morning.

Now about that waking up....... ya need a wake-up call? *grins evilly*

Ok, if Oso is an example of a morning person, I'm not sure I want to be one!!!  You really are just the teensiest bit obnoxious aren't you.  Said with much love & caring, of course.

Rain, if I don't wake up to the phones ringing over & over every minute or so for half an hour, why would I wake up to your calling me?  Not that I wouldn't love to wake up to your cheerful morning person chatter early in the morning.  Because, of course that would be a perfectly loverly way to start my day, I'm sure.  I used to use one of those plug-in alarm clocks that buzzed for an hour if you didn't shut them off.  I slept through the entire hour of buzzing so often that one morning it woke me up because it sounded like newborn kittens purring.  And I was pretty sure I didn't have any newborn kittens at the time.

As for having something fun to look forward to in the morning, he currently lives nearly 3 miles away, so that's out.  The most I have to look forward to is my morning caffeine right now.  Nothing else that happens in the morning could hold my interest.

Hopeless, I tell ya.....

What exactly is morning?  I hear it involves some glowing orb rising, and cereal.  I don't know, I just don't do mornings.

They have those nifty alarm clocks now that can fly around the room. They let you hit snooze one time then if you try to shut it off or hit snooze again it starts flying up at the ceiling going off until you catch it and shut it off. By then you are too wide awake to go back to sleep, or so the theory goes.

Most things involving cereal in my life happen sometime after noon... and I am forced to get up everyday at the asscrack (or sometimes before depending on the time of year) of dawn.

Linnea, I have an alarm clock that sounds like the back up beeper of a truck, but MUCH louder.....even at my most deadest, it always wakes me up, unless I'm so exhausted that I turn it off in my sleep, which happens rarely.  I have it by my bed, net to my head.  I think I got it at Wal Mart for like $4.  It even has a battery ackup for those pesky storms that knock out your power.

I call it my thermo-nuclear warning device.  You might want to try one of those.  Good luck getting your body clock set for days.....I know I couldn't do it!  I always said that morning should start at noon!  My butt may be in the chair at 6 am...my brain will drag itself in around noon and join the body!
