Wow, what a thread to read as I'm just waking up.  [:)]   My answer is yes, pretty much always sexual arousal, unless it's been a punishment spanking which (1) hurts way too much to arouse me  and (2) I'm being punished for something which displeased him, which interferes with that secondary arousal mental thing.

Thank you - I'm willing to dedicate my life to the project for the benefit of scientific research. It's the least I can do to give back to the community which has given me so much in my life.

ummm, I wonder if I can get a government grant??????????

Yes.  Spanking stimulates the pudendal nerve which causes sexual arousal.  The pudendal nerve is a nerve in the pelvic region that innervates the external genitalia of both sexes and spanking someone’s ass can lead to good sexy fun.  In fact, accidents causing damage in pelvic region can cause sexual arousal for the same reasons spanking does.  Manswers (Spike TV) wraps it up neatly in this video segment called Does Spanking Lead to Horniness?

actually the correct answer is... It can... but not always.  the OP implies that spankings will aways lead to sexual arousal... This is clearly not the case... I think it is Irresponsible to suggest otherwise.   Maybe it would be more productive to show How a person can convert a spanking into sexual arrousal... instead of many other of the responses one can get.

Merc...

All due respect, Sir...
No you may not apply for a government grant.....i have seen your posts...its a good thing that you look so good in a blonde wig and certain Utahians vouch for you, or i would have had so much more trouble developing my crush on you.

As for the research, privately funded research is actively going on here in Hartford...weekly...so far....its looking very very very good (and red)

I just know spanking the "common term " stimulates the buttcheekukus nerve s causing transepidermal crimsonitiss  which also results in increased glutinous max  temperature influx further  resulting in the OooOooOOOOoOOOOOoooo factor .[:)]

There must be a similar nerve connection from my hand to my genitalia because it has a similar result for me as a spanker.

For the benefit of science I'd be willing to offer myself be the subject of a long term study and commit to spanking asses for as long as it took.

Me too.  I just can’t find any research on the topic.  [:)]

I wonder if there has been a study on the effects on the spanker hand to ass  receptors and their pleasure receptors ..

of course, would have to agree with KnightofMists on this one. just like anything else under the sun, spanking CAN lead to sexual arousal. however it is by no means some guaranteed means of arousal. personally spanking can evoke several different emotional and physical responses in me...teeth-gritting pain, playfulness, routine, and even just "meh." but i cannot ever recall feeling aroused simply from receiving a spanking.

However, there's something else going on that's crucial: your brain is saying to itself, Holy shit, I'm being spanked!  That's hot!

This was often my response to things that didn't otherwise cause arousal. The fact that he was doing it was more arousing than the physical sensation. Whether spanking or other things.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm irresponsible?  Unsupported by fact and illogical?
The sexual stimulation mentioned in the OP is not a voluntary psychological reaction and to suggest otherwise is simply wrong.  The accident victim with damage in the pelvic area was not “voluntarily” or “psychologically” getting aroused.  It is a biological reaction…  same principle as injecting a man with hormones and he biologically grows tits whether he psychologically wants to be a woman and nurse a baby or not!
Someone may have psychological issues with spanking and those negative feelings can be stronger than the biological response, making the overall effect of spanking unpleasant.  It does not mean that the biological response did not happen, it means the negative psychological response was stronger.
The OP clearly states the biology of how spanking works listing the name of the nerve affected and citing a few reference links.  To make my biological point crystal clear in the Op I even said, “In fact, accidents causing damage in pelvic region can cause sexual arousal for the same reasons spanking does.”
I’m not sure how you guys missed the point and superimposed your own psychological opinions on a biological fact but you are way off base and completely wrong.
hardbodysub -> RE: -=Does spanking lead to sexual arousal?=- (11/26/2008 11:32:57 AM)
You might try reading my post again, slowly this time. I specifically said that I DON'T consider your post irresponsible. Someone else said that, earlier, and I disagreed with it.
In regard to the "unsupported by fact and illogical", take a look at this quote: "I have found spanking is pretty much universally sexually arousing. I can even spank most people into orgasmic bliss." I seriously doubt that your sample of spankees is representative of the universe. They probably wouldn't be letting you touch them if they weren't inclined to be turned on by spanking in the first place. Concluding that you can "spank most people into orgasmic bliss" is quite a stretch, and clearly not supported by anything but your own small (in relation to "most people"), unrepresentative, unscientific sample of partners.
That makes the conclusion illogical.
Spanking does arouse me yes, but NOT the flicky icky stingy thing (a 42" horse training whip). This has ben known to turn my cunt into something resembling a clam for which nothing short of a car jack will prize my legs open.
