MzMia -> I went to see Twilight yesterday, loved it!! (11/30/2008 11:49:59 AM)

Okay, I rarely go to the movies, but one of my favorite
um's asked me to go see Twilight with her.
We went to the Borders next door prior to the movie, and
I was surprised at all of the "Twilight" books, posters, pendants,
rings, and assorted paraphernalia.

I loved the movie!
I think I enjoyed it more than she did, or at least as much!

I enjoyed the plot, the characters, the special effects, and
the suspense factor.
I am giving "Twilight", 3 thumbs up and a bag of chips!

But then, I have always enjoyed films that are a bit dark.
I did see a vampire book at Borders I plan to go back and buy.[:D]
If you enjoy vampires and vampire movies, you might consider
seeing it.

You must not have read the book. I don't know anyone who read the book and then enjoyed the movie.

no, I have not read the book.
My companion has read 3 of the books, and is currently reading
the 4th book and she liked it!
She did comment several times that the movie was VERY DIFFERENT than the book.

Does that make it a bad thing?

I read all the books and am still addicted to the movie!

LaTigresse -> RE: I went to see Twilight yesterday, loved it!! (12/8/2008 11:11:23 AM)

Isn't the movie a mushy teen romance wrapped in a vampire suit?

That's what it looked like to me. Lots of teenie angst, random love story, + dracula.... go go go movie!

Being addicted to books, I read all four in the series in little over 3 days. I was a little skeptical at first- teen romance isn't exactly my thing- but they were quite compelling.

I'm a long time avid vampire fan and soon to be a vampire author as well. My aunt went to B&N and got me these books, brand new. I've read lots of vampire books, Christine Freehan,.,.Anne Rice,(My literary Idol). etc. I'm more apt to see the movie..The books. I could not get into. LeTigreese is correct in her assumption. To me its nothing more than a teen love story wrapped up in a vampire suit. Then again, people might same the about my book as well but thats not so much the case..oops did I just give out a pat of my book? lol.

I read six chapters of twilight and wanted to tear my eyes out. Stephenie Meyer needed major help in writing this book and didn't recieve it. If I had to hear one more time how Edward was beautiful or how much Edward was mysterious...I think I'm going to jump off a cliff. Tween/ Teen vampire movies are ok if done right, but this book and movie were done horribly. I truly don't understand why this movie has this much following.

Because Edward is beautiful and mysterious? [:D]

I've never read the books but i saw the movie and loved it and  now I'm planing on find the books to read them so even  if the movie is different from the books it can help generate sales for the book in a way :P

Ha ha, Twilight sucked so much more, but the constant reminder of how beautiful Edward was annoyed me. Or how crooked his smile was...oy vey! It was also the glitter, since when do vampires glitter?  Not to mention Bella is a complete Mary Sue.

Say it isn't so...don't be sucked in!!! ha ha

Lynnxz, BUT, BUT I liked it.
Does this mean I still have unresolved teenage angst?

As a writer ( not professional  but a writer still ) i hate to see Mary Sue's...i took a quiz and Bella was 97% Mary Sue, the websites advice, burn the copy and start from Scratch :-D

SageFemmexx -> RE: I went to see Twilight yesterday, loved it!! (12/8/2008 3:39:27 PM)

I enjoyed it too. Loved the scenery--the forests and huge trees, the beautiful beach. It was worth it just to remember Washington State.

mozartsfuneral -> RE: I went to see Twilight yesterday, loved it!! (12/8/2008 3:42:41 PM)

But you could have just waited for it on basic cable or DVD...

TribeTziyon -> RE: I went to see Twilight yesterday, loved it!! (12/8/2008 3:44:33 PM)

Not my cup of tea for reading in general.

I have read three of the four.

I think they are a nice, clean and moral read for the intended audience. It's great that there are options out there that are a bit more tame in this genre.

I will likely see the movie but am in no rush.
