We have a mouse problem, have for months and no matter what we do they keep coming back, and today I went into the little storage knook and found out they ate a beautiful dress I had in there and worse they ate off the ear of one of my really nice soft teddy bears. After that discovery I am to heart sick to look through anything else and see what they hurt. I know they really fucked up a nice 65 dollar velvet dream catcher type thing I had, they ate 4 of the feathers off, and they gnawd on the velvet a little. Fortunatly it's not super bad. mutteringsomething under my rbeath about fucking mice I'm glad our dog killed one of those little bastards in our room weeks ago. She heard it come in and she pounced on it and broke its neck.

Cats. Even if they're no good as mousers, they can be a wonderful deterrent to the mice. I moved into a house one time that was so infested they had a condo-type community going on in some cupboards. It was quite elaborate. Before we even started cleaning, we brought the cats over & opened the cupboard doors. I don't think the cats actually killed many, if any at all, but we never had a mouse problem the whole time we lived there. They went on to the neighbors' cat-free homes, I'm sure. Sometimes, just borrowing a cat or two for a few days to get their scent around can make the little bastages move on.

I hate field mice also. My dryer isn't working right. We undid the lint hose to discover it was blocked by a mouse's nest. Among the matted lint was a petrified mouse. Ick, Ick, Ick. Took two days to clean the internal ducts on the dryer of all lint and then discovered that something else went wrong as a result of it being blocked. Repairman can't come until Monday. Sigh! Takes twice as long to do half a load with it now.

LOL, no they're not. my neighbor has 4 cats, and the cats are micers, and her place is over run with mice too.[:'(] She has two dogs too, and they'd tear the mouse to death if they ever caughtone. There was an artical saying that pet smells like smells of dogs are ad eterent, but it's not working at our houses. The rodents don't give one shit that there's 4 cats and two dogs next door and two dogs here. ( ok well there was 2 dogs at the original start of the mouse problem, but you all know we had to have one of mine put to sleep) Our dog does a better job at being a mouser than the cats, she hates those mice, and she tries her best to get them when she hears them and cries when she can't get to them. quote: ORIGINAL: LinnaeaBorealis Cats. Hell if it wasn't so toxxic to humans and pets I'd spray all my stuff with rat poison and then purposly put it back into rat infested storage lol. As it is, I am going to start making sure EVERYTHING in storage, even in the outer room of my garage bedroom, is in LIDDED packers, since they have up to date never bothered anything in a plastic box with lids. Snack on that you lil fuckers.

Meeses are eeevil. I have one in my bedroom chewing on my lingerie. I never can catch the lil bastard. But I know hes there cuz I can hear him walking in the dresser, and rooting through stuff, and chewing on paper in my journals...

Haha, we have a huge problem with large rats at the haunted house, I blame the antique store. Usually it's solved by insisting that all food be put in airtight plastic containers, and bringing the dog around.

Hehe - i was married to a big brave cop - who dug me out of my bed one night because a (very) little mouse was in the washing machine - and he was too afraid of mice to reach in and get it out!! I gently covered it with a towel ( and avert your eyes OP) and released it outside.

I know this is going to sound a little mean but, if you want to make a cat a better mouser, only feed it once a week. I used to live on a farm and believe me, with all that hay and horse feed around there was an enormous mouse / rat problem. Our barn cats were only given store bought food once a month, other than that, they killed for their food and they got damn good at it. My cat angel, who actually spent most of her time in the house was actually NEVER fed store bought food. She went out when she was hungry and killed something. She was a fat shit too. Until she got killed by a passing car, we NEVER had a mouse in the house.

Also, in the huge storage, mice ate several of my sex toys chewed clean through the cord. , a phone power supply, some clothing a soda can and the plastic bottle the cleaning chemical for my glasses came in. They ate one of my good black wooly type shirts, fortunatly the holes are small and in the back so it's stillw earable. Plus everything out there smells like rat piss REALLY badly, and there was like 3 inches deep of rat shit and mouse poop on everything. All my fabrics and my toys and my clothings and stuff are gonna have to be washed.

Two other pets that will get rid of them.. a California king snake or a ferret...both can get anywhere the mice can...and will poenkitten

You need to find all the places those meeses are getting into your house and plug them! Spray foam works well but be sure you wear gloves! And I'm a big fan of mouse traps! I bait then with a dab of peanut butter. I love to hear that SNAP in the middle of the night! :D Be VERY careful when using rat poison if you have kids and/or pets you want to keep. ;) Best of luck! ~Dave

Call around to some of your local variety, farm and garden, and hardware stores and ask if they have any electronic pest controls. They plug into any outlet and emit a high frequency sound that the mice find uncomfortable but does not have an effect on pets. (Humans can't hear it at all.) One will only cover a certain number of square feet so you might need several. I used them for several years and very rarely had a mouse problem, and one of my aunts swears by them.

Other ideas I've used is a pet rat. Mice will rarely go into the same location as a rat. The electronic devices sometimes work as well. Mousetraps and peanut butter are a surefire way to become a mouse terminator. Sometimes Orkin has a deal with straight up mouse control too.

You might also check with your local city or county pest control departments to see if they have any programs in place to help with mouse infestations. If nothing else they can give you information on what chemicals, etc. will be most effective as well as to be environmentally safe for people and pets.
