No but I've heard of it happening , maybe its the same place.

The chap I mention , Roger , has regular Pig Roasts at his barn (he has excellent cheese too) . You pay in and you can eat as much as you want and drink as much cider as you want it's good value as you get a band too.(two if you drink enough cider .... you end up seeing double)
It's off the beaten track but he gets good bands (some well known people are cider drinkers) I will give only one example as a couple of celebs who "might" live nearby would not thank me for mentioning them
For many years Rogers barn was a popular haunt of Joe Strummer.

Tips for drinking real cider ..... beware the sugar and yeast content of your stomach and in what you otherwise consume whilst ascending to heaven ..... ignorance of this is why most people who can't deal with real cider can't.

Pirate

Ohh sounds like a great place!

Yeppers.. the Sugars inside the cider that are added will enact with the yeast.. and poof, then you have the really potent stuff.
http://www.motherearthnews.com/Real-Food/2007-10-01/How-to-Make-Hard-Cider.aspx

Of course pressing your own apples is the way to go. I like the drier ones as well. They are more "Drinkable" since the sugars have not raised the achl. content through the roof.

It is a reason that Mead is so damn potent. All that honey!

Gwyn,
Who loves a good hard cider, and mead as well.

Sorry it's late Pirate.

FourQ translates to Pirate Wade the Bitter, either a miserable old scroat, or someone knee deep in ale?  I'll let you decide.
My real name translates as Pirate Hank the Dagger, a name no doubt derived from a murderous past, eh Pirate?[;)]
While the Um translates as Cap'n Hidalgo Seaturd, an apt name considering tonight's actions while bathing him!

My pirate name is Can't Remember Where the Damn Treasure's Buried Helga.  So appropriate for I'm always misplacing things.  [;)]

Just used my real name I got dubbed:
Pirate Edgar the Periwinkle   think  I should be offended!

Using my name from here it's :   Sweatin' Bruno Dregg

OMG...FourQ looks like a guy i used to date!!!(well, he looks like he could be his son, anyways)
*starts a stroll down memory lane...
."Ae fond kiss, and then we sever;
Ae farewell, alas, for ever!
Deep in heart-wrung tears I'll pledge thee,
Warring sighs and groans I'll wage thee! " *
This particular gentleman (Glaswegian ) had a fondness for quoting Burns whilst his head was busy betwixt my thighs...sound anything like You, FourQ???

Thanks FourQ

As to the name ....... best left out of the "most appropriate" thing , eh? ....... It will save a LOT of explaining [;)]

You will have to consult Dr Misst if the Seaturd starts to give you concerns , however I suspect you refer to a different kind of seaturd , if so , maybe you should see the positive side , there was soap and water handy .......... (as the old proverb I just invented goes : A turd in the bath is better than one down your sleeve just as you're changing the nappy)

Doesn't Resident Sadist already have that picture?  Though His was taken in a hottub, so i lovingly refer to it as "Titty Soup"...but still...would Bear be appreciative of such a pic[image]http://www.collarchat.com/micons/m5.gif[/image]

Also, I do like Woodchuck brand.

My favourite is PEAR cider!  Totally THUD worthy!

Any Idea if they do a DRY one ? , I've heard they make it from "Granny Smiths" (not one of Missts recipes , just in case anyone asks) which I've not found , their "Amber" is a bit sweet (I get the idea cider is sweetened artificialy here).

Woodchuck has been bought by Bulmers , who make many ciders in England , "Strongbow" and "Bulmers Original" being their main brands , and I know Strongbow can be bought here (somewhere).

Guessing from your comment about Perry (you call it "pear cider) it sounds like your taste is sweeter than mine.

Any suggestions welcome.
