Well, I was going to bring a couple of dozen homemade truffles on the plane, but it doesn't sound like the sort of thing anyone would want to eat.

Btw, peachy, don't be surprised if the seafood you get in Florida is no fresher than what is available where you live. It's mostly all frozen and imported these days.*sobs*  Ya gotta catch yer own.

Noooooooooooooooooooooo......... *sobswhinescriesstampsfeetintempertantrum*...... tell me it ain't sooooooooooooooo!

My last trip to Florida, we stopped at this utterly Fantastic place out in the Keys for lunch..... and the seafood was..... omg beyond awesomeness fantabulous..... and absolutely, utterly, delightfully fresh.  (If it wasn't fresh caught that day, it wasn't on the menu that day!)

*sigh* I think that's the one thing I  miss about the brief time I spent living in Baltimore as well - being able to go down to the Inner Harbor and buy fresh seafood right off the boats if I got there at the right time of day.......

cjan -> RE: February 6th, 2009 (1/23/2009 5:49:44 PM)

Peachy, yes, there are a handfull of places in the Keys and elsewhere along the coasts where you can still get locally caught seafood. But, sadly, those places are few and far between. I used to do commercial fishing, of various kinds, and was in the restaurant bidniss too. Take my word for it.

It can be done. In Orlando, I would guess that Tulip might know where the good stuff may be had.
