General reply to the OP. We are no better than animals, well, maybe a fraction of a percent, and that small percent is because we do have the ability to conceptualize a better existence but we don't do it, or at least the great great majority. Examples: We realize we are causing harm to others by overconsuming, yet the vast majority will consume at a rate equal to or greater than their ability to pay for that consumption. Dogs often given something tasty will gorge until they are forced to stop and sometimes will throw up, and keep on consuming. These are the same. We as a species are controlled primarily via our chemicals, we like to fuck for instance, people are to a very large degree controlled by this central impulse. Making yourself pretty or handsome, is nothing more than peacock feathers. How, many years of most peoples lives is spent, primming, shaving, applying makeup, etc.... And many things like working out are done to increase sex appeal, though most claim its for health and for some it is. So, there is no difference between the less complicated ways of lower animals, and the more complex ways of people in terms of sex. We are just robots following chemical instructions, at least the vast vast majority are. We as a species are capable of higher thought, but I'd argue, not many of us use that ability. While we are capable of thinking things through generally we are pack animals, thought isn't required in a herd, and that is where the vast vast majority feel comfortable. Oh, and sports, are complete animal behaviour, it's the same as my dogs trying to play fight and see who can get the others throat, though not for real. What's more animal than that? Anyway, I'm highly impressed with a few humans, the rest well, I'd save my doggies first. So far 5% better than animals, the rest about the same, or worse.
