Steponme73 -> Female dominants (12/9/2008 7:49:17 AM)

It is a known fact that male drivers are the more aggressive.  However, I was wondering if female dominants are aggressive drivers or just fast drivers?  And if there is any connection between a female dominant, her occupation and how she drives.
I know a lot of female real estate agents and they all seem to drive fast.  Same applies to female attorneys.  I know several accountants and they are not fast drivers.
Any thoughts?

Madame4a -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 7:51:54 AM)

time is money for many people?

I hate to drive, do it slowly and not at all agressively for the most part...

LadyPact -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 7:54:41 AM)

Guilty on the fast driving, though I'm not particularly aggressive about it.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 8:01:16 AM)

I am a CPA, and no one gets in front of me on the road!!!  I love speed.

Actually though I am a fast driver, I am one of the best and safest drivers you will find.

SomethingCatchy -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 8:03:48 AM)

I go from wanting to speed and get places to wanting to be lazy and take my time enjoying being out. I'm technically a switch that leans more toward Domme... does that throw a wrench in there?

MistressEllen444 -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 8:04:43 AM)

Quite guilty, but I do live in the LA area

Just like the rest of us?  [:D]

I lean more towards sub, but I'm quite an aggressive and fast driver when my kids aren't in the car.  The cars I drive tend to like it fast and rough, and who am I to deny them their fun?

lusciouslips19 -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 8:13:56 AM)

I am not a fast driver. I have a hard time being a passenger though if i dont like the driving. I get very anxiety filled and sometimes its best if I drive. I am sub and not a daredevil speed junkie. People hate being behind me in a car.

CatdeMedici -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 8:19:18 AM)

I work at home, so when I am out, it is leisurely for errands or groceries or going to the farm for the horses--so I have no need to drive fast ( and 2 serious auto accidents that left Me with a scarred face and a shattered arm --neither was My fault- and raising a child---have taught Me caution)

Lockit -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 9:03:42 AM)

I am not an aggressive driver, but I do get ticked at dangerous or stupid drivers!  So you might hear me say a few colorful words now and then.  I do like fast, but mostly go the speed limit or five over.  I was told by a police officer that he doesn't pay attention unless they are ten or over the limit and I am just avoiding getting pulled over.  But I do like fast and as soon as the light changes, I am going. hehe  I do like a smooth ride so no jerking, fast rides for passengers!  No accidents, one seat beat ticket a long, long time ago and a safe driver that uses defensive driving (watching out for the other idiots out there doing stupid).

As for career... I don't think it matters but I have been anything from a waitress/bartender, working in electronic's to public speaker and director of shelter and business owner.

And I am very picky about who I am a passenger with!  I can't stand impatient, angry, aggressive drivers.  In fact, I have broken up with someone over it because within ten minutes of any ride, I was ready to kill him.  Fearful drivers also tweek my ass.

chezzy71 -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 9:14:41 AM)

I don't know about anyone else but having to drive on a certain highway here in Virginia makes me nuts.Everyone fron trucks to suv's to cars tailgate like crazy and i am one to open my mouth at times,not always..i mean it's not like they will listen to me anyways.I try and slow down to get them off me but then they become more dangerous.They certainly didn't plan the area right...too much traffic in a very small space.I become mouthy because like Cat,i was in a very serious accident with a very close friend years ago.He was driving and it was his fault and worse..he didn't survive it.I have to live the rest of my life knowing that i heard his last breaths.My mouth hasn't placed me in trouble but maybe i should just shutup before i attract weapon attention.

CatdeMedici -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 10:14:16 AM)

Time to put a gag in the car-a nice scarf over the visor should be a nice reminder.

manxcat -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 10:27:26 AM)

I drive fast and agressively, when it is called for, and more slowly when it is not. I have also driven the most dangerous vehicles and the most vulnerable - semi's and motorcycles.  I have one ticket in 20 years, and no wrecks, so i would say i am a safe driver.

I'm an aggressive driver, but I wouldn't say I speed too much. My truck complains when it hits 80.

A couple wrecks, one when I first bought the truck, and took a turn in the rain, and another when the county ended the fast lane with no warning in 200 feet.

I've driven in SD... omg!  Where I was... whew!  I remember getting out of the car at a gas station a-ragin!  "I have never seen drivers like this... damn this state(!)"  Okay, only three older people tried to get us killed... I was a lil pissed!  Pull right out in front of someone going forty and stop in middle of road or go twenty miles an hour.  I was stompin mad and this local guy... kind of cute... looked at me I am sure wondering where I was from and not sure he liked me. lol  I was too mad to care.

I got home and told boyfriend about it and he laughed.  "You have to watch it around here... they do drive slow and like no one else is on the road."  Yeah... no kidding! lol  It was like that every time I went to the city.  I learned.

Yes, but you and I both know what it's like to drive in GA.  I've never had a problem driving through your neck of the woods, but try driving in Mine some time.  [8D]

LaTigresse -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 11:21:01 AM)

How I drive depends. Which vehicle I am driving, am I alone in the car, what the traffic is like, what road am I on, what is the condition of the road annnnnnnd last but not least, what music am I listening to and what is my frame of mind.

Ideally I would be driving the M3, alone, on perfect road conditions, on my favourite curvy quiet highway, jamming, and happy. That means I am driving quite fast and taking the corners that have signs that say 35mph, at 65mph minimum.

This morning I had to take a road I hate, and top speed was 20mph. Must love ice storms.........NOT!

Lashra -> RE: Female dominants (12/9/2008 12:25:05 PM)

I drive safely because my safety, as well as that of my companions is worth more than saving a few minutes of time. I am quite an aggressive female, but I drive carefully as I do not want to add "stupid" to my descriptive list.

In my experience, people who say things like this are usually dramatically over-estimating their competence.  See also http://www.apa.org/journals/features/psp7761121.pdf .

Actually, Beeble, I am not overestimating my skills in the slightest.   Thanks for making that charming assumption, though!
