Well I have a mattress leaning against the wall in a 3rd bedroom I use for storage and my cat Bubba climbs right up it and it looks funny.
Sometimes I'll use a lazer pointer and get him running around and he hits the new hardwood floor in the kitchen and smashes into the wall.

i had a dalmation that used to chase shadows, he used to chase them round the dining room and end up running into the patio doors to try and get outside to catch it, or he'd see a pattern in the carpet he'd not seen before and spend age bouncing on it to try to get it...silly dog.

Hard to describe if you are not a fishkeeper but I'll try.  I was feeding my angelfish.  There they were watching me intently as I walked up to the tank.  I open the lid and they're still watching.  I squeeze the food out of a baggie into the tank and, yes, they're still watching.  The food slips out and sails off to the side as they're still watching.  They swim after the food until they realise that it's not in the tank.  I was laughing so hard as they turned back to look at me.  I had never seen fish do a double-take before.  LOL

Run out of the house to his car in a full drag with a white & pink French maid's outfit complete with bunny ears and platform hot pink boots.  The neighbors had quite an eye-full.

My kitten had farts a few days back (bad idea to give him broccoli soup leftovers), loud but squeeky ones.

When he farted, he was unsure of the noise and attacked his own testicles over n over.

Ever seen an extremely fluffy 14-pound cat stuff himself into a laptop bag? It's a major lol.

While I train a dog, they all wear a harness so I can better grab them and move them or stop them, whatever.  One day my rather large sable collie who ended up being 130 pounds, but was half the size at the time was seemingly in her teen years and decided that she was going to rebel.  She was very stubborn at times but the best dog and communicator I ever had.  She planted herself and you could not move her unless you picked her up... like at bath time.  One day she planted herself and would not move.  Now I am not used to being disobeyed, so I go to pick her up by the harness and pull her to where I was instucting her to go.  Her front legs where off the ground and I was trying to walk her and she grabbed my legs with both front legs hugging my legs like she was hanging on for dear life.  I died laughing.  She thought it was bath time because my daughter was running water.

Then I had a stray cat we took in and we would take those super balls and bounce them on the tile floor.  The ball pops up and there is little kitty scratching the floor trying to get through it to the ball.  It disappeared on her.

my kitteh jumping on top of the fridge and deciding that walking on the top of the door was a good idea...and then the oh shit look when she realized the door was a kitteh cliff. Cats can not walk backwards...especially on top of a door.

I came home from work one afternoon and my black lab was laying sprawled on top of the dining room table soaking up the sun. She just gave me a look like she belonged there.

I was walking my yellow lab one day and he was so concerned with the dog across the street he ran right into a telephone pole, then gave me a definite dirty look when I laughed at him.

I have a pretty long entrance hallway that is not carpeted, so it's prime space to throw a toy for my dog to fetch.  She loves it, she's become quite skilled at hitting the linoleum at a dead run, grabbing the toy in mid-flight, then doing a slow spin-slide with the toy in her mouth till she crashes (gently) into the welcome mat that has become her bumper, all smooshed up against the back wall.

Forget funny pets. This should get the funny owner award. Missing a non-moving fish tank from inches away is pretty hard to do. Betcha couldn't do it again.

Uncle Nasty, happily back to 1 1/2 hands.

I got a $100.00 check and a T-Shirt from Planet's Funniest Animals for a film I made one Saturday after discovering two magpies harassing a very large feral tomcat in my front yard.

I imagine that the cat had gotten into their nest or something similar to that because they were acting awfully bravely! One of the birds would keep the cat's attention while the other would sneak up behind this orange tomcat and have a peck at his tail then, when he turned to go after that one the other would do the exact same thing. He's a bit older for a cat and starting to slow down some, and that's why they were able to antagonize him so - and he was obviously getting pissed. After a while he just laid down and watched his tail twitch, and still they kept at it.

This went on for a very long time and, though I had to locate the camcorder THEN the charger THEN find a fresh tape, I still managed to capture a good deal of the action.

It hasn't aired yet that I know of, but it will have been a year since I sent it in this coming spring and so I am guessing they will show it soon. They said they would call me before they do air it... but as it's my UM's favorite show, I'll know when they do. The cat comes here to eat whatever leftovers my cats leave him, and these days (due in part to that $100.00 check) I make sure he gets enough to eat.

My yellow lab likes to watch tv. She is especially fond of the dog shows where the dogs are retrieving on land and in water while their owners/handlers are blowing whistles and giving them hand signals. One day one of the dogs ran off camera and she jumped off the couch and ran around the side of the tv to see if the dog on the screen came out the other side.

Then there is my beloved Tank....my 125 lb retarded chocolate lab....

I worked a double shift that day and came home exhausted. I grabbed a quick bite to eat and sat down to take a glance at the paper. On the couch I found a pretty generic looking plastic bag that was obvious evidence (or at least so I thought) that one of the dogs had been in the trash. I picked it up and turned to them and they both gave me that "yeah, we know we shouldn't have" look. I tossed the bag in the trash and went on to read the paper. My son, who was a senior in high school at the time, called to check in and I explained to him that I was deadbeat tired and would be going to bed early. He said that he'd see me in the morning. I finished the paper and off I went to bed.

About 3:30 in the morning, Tank came and pulled the covers off me and stuck his cold nose in my face. I rolled over and tried desperately to ignore him. He persisted and wasn't about to take no for an answer. This was pretty unlike him, normally the only way he woke up at night was if you tripped over him on your way to the bathroom. So after a few minutes I dragged myself out of bed to take him outside. We lived on a lake in the country at the time and night time there is DARK. We were beyond any benefit of the back yard light when I heard this unidentifiable noise. The only way I can describe it is that it sounded something like distant machine gun fire. A few moments later Tank came back into view looking relieved and we went back in to bed.

4:15 Tank decided to play it again, covers pulled off and cold nose in the face. Ugh! Doesn't this dog know I worked a double and I am exhausted??? Once again I rolled out of bed and made my way through the backyard. Again I heard that distant machine gun fire. Honestly, I was just too tired to even try to investigate what on earth it could be. Tank back at my side looking happy once again we headed back to bed.

4:45....Tank again. You have got to be kidding me!!! Is there no rest to be had for the weary??? I found myself planning my revenge for the next day. I knew he would be lounging on the couch all day while I was at work and I wasn't going to let that happen undisturbed. I'd call on the phone and when the answering machine came on I'd excitedly ask him if he wanted to go for a ride...or if he wanted a treat. Oh yeah....this dog was not going to have a moment's rest tomorrow! It's amazing how your mind works when you are suffering from a lack of sleep!...........back to the back yard.....again that noise...what is that noise??? Oh well, too tired, back to bed.

5:30.....guess who???? Well at least now it's time to get up. Once again we trudged together across the back yard. Once again I hear machine guns in the distance. Back to the house, turn the coffee on and jump in the shower. I throw on some clothes and sit down with my coffee to check my e-mail and here comes Tank. Back to the backyard we go....machine gun fire. I look over into the now early morning light and I see that Tank is rapidly firing something from his backside. I walk over and to my amazement there are big piles of completely whole mixed nuts...you know, the gourmet kind where the cashews are as big as your thumb. There isn't anything else coming out of this dog but whole mixed nuts and he is expelling them at such a velocity that he could have shot squirrels out of the trees!!!!

In the house I go, knock on my son's bedroom door. Do you know anything about mixed nuts? Oh yeah Mom, this girl (who my son was trying to get a date with) was selling nuts for one of her school fundraisers. I bought a bag of them for you and left them on the coffee table. Ummmmm.....how much was in the bag? 5 lbs!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say, the vet was contacted regarding Tank's "high fiber" diet. Oh yeah, and the squirrels in the yard thought they had struck gold!

I once loved a wonderful big ol yellow golden retriever…she was a wonderful companion with more personality then both of my X wives.

One evening I settled on my couch with a steak, potato, salad and wine dinner setting on the coffee table with a warm fire roaring on the hearth. As usual Rosie was at my feet hoping for the occasional offering of food… the perfect evening.

Just then the phone in my bedroom rang…as I got up I said ” Rosie don’t you touch my food” with a stern voice…She answered with a big smile …squinting eyes…and drool running from her tongue hanging from the side of her mouth.

It turned out the call was important and I talked for sometime. Just as I was about to hang up…into the room comes Rosie… her shoulders slumped… her nose on the ground… her eyes sad and looking off to the side. I said “ROSIE what did you do”. She immediately fell to the floor and throws up my salad on my feet.

After a few curse words Rosie turns on her back with her feet in the air whimpering for forgiveness. I could do nothing but laugh and forgive her…which of course she knew I would.

When I walked into the living room I found my plates… drink…food were all missing… The coffee table was licked perfectly clean…you would not think there was a full meal there 10 minutes ago.

After a little searching I found all the plates and silverware hidden under the couch where she had pushed them with her nose.

She was one of the great loves of my life…I miss her.

Now you all have me thinking of all the dogs in my life and all they did.  The chasing animals on the tv and not understanding where they went.. the lion jumping toward the camera and the dog looking above our heads for it going overhead.  The phones and such hidden in the sofa and not finding them until someone called.  The guilt of getting into something they knew they shouldn't and that shame! lol  The times we had only girl dogs that would do that dominant hump and the ex saying... oh great... a psycho dog and now they are all gay! (he wanted puppied one day)

But my sable collie... she did more than the fun stuff... she was a communicator like lassie and that dog understood about my illness and pain.  I didn't notice it until I saw her play with others.  With me, we tugged on the rope and such and had fun when I could, but one day I saw her play with my son...omg!  She drug him across the room!  She was being gentle with me because somehow she knew... god I miss that dog!
