Would you punish your slave in public if he embarrassed you or annoyed you by his/her behaviour or would you wait till you got home. Or with adults is there just no place for punishment in today's world, we either click as a partnership or we part our ways

Yes, punishment can take place in public- as long as it is discreet and does not interfere or actively push itself into the space of others.
Behavioral training can come in many forms, many relationships do not include punishment in theirs.  Though it has little to do with people "clicking"

Depends on where in public and what the punishment was. Would I make a guy pull down his pants in Olive Garden and spank his ass red for putting too much cheese on my pasta? No.Would I pull him into an alley to spank him some? Perhaps. Would I make him not look me in the face the whole time in public as punishment for something? You bet'cha.

It would depend on the sititation, and just how public an event is taking place. If by public you are in a club, where no one will think anything of it, then I would think it appropaite. Are you at chucky cheese, at your neices bday party?? Maybe you shuold wait till ya get home :)

I have been known to get a little out of hand from time to time, at which point Habibi has had to intervene to save face, either by forcibly removing me from a situation or by making me stop talking (my mouth gets me in trouble, lol), but He saves the actual lecture (the very, very painful lecture which typically serves as my punishment in itself) for behind closed doors. He typically will not speak to me, which is also a punishment that hurts worse than any paddle could, until that "talk" happens.

Um. kevin, punishment when deserved is a component of damn near every D/s and M/s relationship.  Haven't you read any of the posts on collarme?

I will correct a slave in public and start punishment by telling the slave that I will be "talking" to them in mny study when we get home. The slave may loose some privaliges temporily whilst we are out to show my displeasure such as not being allowed to serve me or carry my gear. However, it may well be that the tempory loss of privaliges and knowing that weare going to have a "talk" could be punishment enough. Hopefully they wont shit themselves with fear for that would really mess up my day.

If My owner punished me in public before we had the talk that explains what behavior is warrenting the punishment. Im not someone who disobeys just because. Usually, its a miscommunication, or something that was a misunderstanding. which warrenting a punishment nearly never happens. So public punishment for the most part was just a misunderstanding. would make things worse because there would be one VERY angry kitten on someones paws and that never is a good sign.

I would, and have, absolutely punished slaves in public.
Sometimes the feedback from the Dominant needs to be immediate.
In those cases its inappropriate to wait to deliver a consequence.
Discretion is of course, something to be taken into consideration here.

I dont know that I would punish my slave for being embarassing in public, but I would certainly correct the problem. I have done so, once or twice and it is always done in public. Waiting to correct a problem that small is usualy a bad idea since if the misstep isnt fresh in either of your minds, it might be fuzzy as to what is to be fixed. Fox is a bright boy, but even he cant read minds. IF something is going to bother me and he doesnt realize it, I have to let him know right away or he cant be expected to stop it. If he continues on doing it becasue he WANTS to annoy me, there wil be punishment, but I opt for the "Wait until we get home" type for something harsher than words. No one needs to see it. Embarassing myself and him in a store does not make it better.

I have been known to dole out a quick slap here or there if something is not correct when we are out.  With that, they generally know more is to come when we get home.......

as part of my training with Master is "outings" and when i do over step or forget something Master has a very effective punishment that can be delivered any were!

i know that if i did something as to push Her patience to look at me and whisper to me in public how She would take care of that at home or something would certainly get my attention. i would not want to ever upset Her in public because i am a reflection of Her. i can imagine Her whispering something bad in my ear to correct me, but i would not be surprised if She would not be afraid to tease me in public for my behavior,,

If I did something inappropriate that warranted a negative consequence, then it would happen immediately.  Corporal Punishment is not part of our dynamic, but negative consequences and correction of behavior is.

If the general public notices anything at all, it would mostly be an annoyed man talking to the woman he is with.  That isn't much different than typical behavior of people out in public.

I personally think some punishment can take place in public as long as its not too outrageous and does not make other people victims of your cute little "scene"

For the heavy stuff, wait til you're home...just like momma used to do. [;)]

Yes, I have punished a trainee in public before. To anyone outside the dynamic it would look like nothing. My slave, however, I have never punished in public probably because he had enough of that when he was in training and learned enough to avoid it.

What I will not do is make punishment a public spectacle.  Folks can get their entertainment elsewhere.
