Status: offline 		Actually in some cases I'd like to bring baclk both public birchings and public flogging (not too brutal) for sertain offenders both young and adults.. The humiliation may serve to open eyes to more productive pass times than whatthe do (like grafiti and juvie gangs) but I'll be in the minority there..

Status: offline 		The worst punishment I received in public was a dressing down That only I could hear in my ear and then I wasn't allowed to be with her.  She sent me home.  When She got home I was ordered to a flea bag motel til further notice.  that was three days.
When I did get home further  ignore status for a month. 

The infraction dropping a $200 vase that the store didn't have another for.  It was to be a gift to a very special female friend of hers for her birthday the next day.

That I was bumped by someone and had 6 bags total and a lot of ofter stuff broke and I twisted up my ankle because of it didn't matter.  That gift cost me big punishment .

I would say that it depends where we are, if it is with vanilla acquaintances, Master would give me the look that says it all, wait til we get home.  If we are with others of bdsm lifestyle, Master would definately punish me, but discreetly.

Floggings, canings, the stocks....cheaper than jails, and with the potential to actually succeed in deterring bad behavior.

Status: offline 		Praise in public, punish in private.  Yet another of those old saws that got to be that way for a reason.

In truth though, I find very little reason to be punishing my girl.  Seldom does she thwart me and on the rare occasions that it does happen, a simple discussion seems to work just fine.  I'm all for lowering the melodrama level whenever possible.

Status: offline 		I have yet to be punished in public. My Dom allows my requests to not be punished around where my office is and will either wait until we are away from that area or are in private.

After all, unless you are an attention seeking whore monger and complete imbecile who air your dirty laundry in the public and especially when more than a few are likely to be actively anti BDSM anyway.

If you read the post very carefully, the important word you are missing is...is.  The poster is merely asking if there is a place for punishing adults in public or if that cannot be done because of whatever stigma would be attached to it.  No where in there is Keven judging anyone for their decision to either punish or not in public.

Now..to answer the poster...

If I misbehave in public I can be assured that he will come up behind me, grab me by my hair, pull my head back and ask me if I'm finished.  This generally gets the response he's looking for but if it doesn't, I know there will be more of a punishment when we get home.
We try to keep it very basic, very non obtrusive to others when in public.

I'd tell him no YOU go to a fleabag hotel, and you stay there and don't come back, your stuff will be on the curb tomorow, * since he lives with me* if he was to try to pull shit like punishing me for something that was A an accident and B the fault of someone else. She shouldn't of been expecting you to old 6 bags and a priceless item. She's an idiot in my estimation. But my estimation and what I would do don't count since I'm not the one in the relationship.

All this however is immaterial because with your attitude, you wouldn't even place a foot on my property let alone get a sniff of a collar from me. What works for you and the relationships and dynamic you prefer is great, just not for me and my home..

I agree with this too, and most definately my approach.

I have viewed someone make a scene out of punishing their sub at a club, a female young Domme. A sharp thwack of a faceslap, and screaming at the top of her voice.

Surely, this would depend on the type of punishment? You are not suggesting that "The Look" or a verbal reprimand would incur a period of incarceration?

So nice generalization, but it doesn't fly. It doesn't take balls and you're not going to waste several years in prison, If you're apropriate about it.
