If I had to punish her in public...I did something wrong in training her.
Corrections..yes....but if I needed punishment as a tool in public...I will rethink her position.
(unless punishment is giving her the evil eye ;) )

You see I don't have to care or worry what any one else thinks, cause they're not my Daddy and they never will be. So as long as my Daddy doesn't care, what you all think doesn't matter. You could think I'd be better suited sitting in a cage on the moon and it wouldn't affect or matter to me.

That would depend on your slaves limits.If he is ok with public humiliation do it otherwise don't.

Not altogether true. What you said fits with subs generally but generally it is the nature of slaves to obey. It matters not if they are ok with public humiliation or not. They always have the two "Escapes"

A good Master knows his slaves limits and she or he knows what to expect if they step over the line. besides which as so many have already posted, punishment can be very subtle and others nereby would not pick it up.

Um. kevin, punishment when deserved is a component of damn near every D/s and M/s relationship. Haven't you read any of the posts on collarme?

Except mine. We're definitely one of the "we either click as a partnership or we part ways." group. However, some of my greatest lessons have been learned through what's happened in a public venue - even if no one else knew he was helping me to learn something important.

I agree completely. I don't feel we have to hide in shadows but as I want others to be respectful to my choices, I wish to be respectful of theirs as well.

Hmm... IronBear....Slaves usually have contracts or some kind of set hard limits.I have rarely seen a no limit slave so I will still say that if his slave has a hard limit of no humiliation or pubic degradation that would be a no on public punishment as well.

I too have rarely seen a no limits slave but I have seen an d know a good number of slaves whose limits are mirrored by their owners which give the impression of being no limits. However we were not speaking about no limit slaves and in fact if you peruse my original post (quoted above) I have highlited my comment which says nothing about either no limits or all slaves I did say generally it is the nature of slaves to obey. Now I don't know your slave background and it is nothing to do with me anyway, but when I talk about slaves I do refer to both the Goreamn kajiri and those slaves owned by Masters and Mistresses whose philosophy is akin to that of the Gorean Lifestyle Masters regarding slaves and disclipline. I also commented:"as so many have already posted, punishment can be very subtle and others nereby would not pick it up"..

Aah, see but you're assuming, that punishment has to be about humiliation, or public degradation.

When my Daddy got after me and lightly smacked my hand, for being inappropriate in public at the dinner where his sister in law worked, about the ranch looking like cum, It was neither public humiliation or degradation, In fact nobody even had a clue I'd just been chewed out.

OR when he asked do you want to go home and forget having lunch, because I was annoying him* Yes taking me home and not getting me lunch would be a punishment to us*

Same as when he put his arm around me, pulled me close and explained to me quietly and firmly in my ear, we will NOT be buying a liquor drink since he's paying for the meal end of discussion. To other people, if they'd bothered to be looking at us, which nobody was, it would of looked like a brief side armed hug, from a man to his woman.

And, while the second one might not count as punishment, the first one certainly did.

Why do people keep insisting that it has to be humiliating or degrading to be punished in public. Or even that sure if you want to go to jail and enjoy jail time.

It's not like the people who said yes they'd punish their slave, said they would beat them or embarrass them or make a scene or be so violent they got arrested.

. Tons of people in fact said they could discipline quite effectively and not make any one bat an eye. Hell punishment isn't one dimensional, it's not something that either has to be humiliating, Embarrassing, Degrading, nor does it have to be something you'll go to jail for.
