well, I love to make my parents blush by saying "Yeah... They didn't want to name me after a sportscar and have the boys tease me about being fast, and a nice ride.... So they named me Sierra.... After the truck.... Which I guess means that I'm 'all-terrain' and in it for the 'long hull'!!!!! HAHA!" (can't spell.... sorry) *edited to add: Carrera is better than Porsche* *Lamborghini*

Okay so this is a Story about someone elses name who is close and dear to us. His name is Jashaia. Pronounce (Ju-Shy-Uh) and his Middle Name is Alexander because his Father was supposed to be names Alexander and never got the chance. So the story goes His Father and Mother wanted to name him a STRONG "J" name but his Mother HATED Justin, which is the name his Father wanted to name him. After weeks and weeks of thinking of "j" names that were Hard to Shorten because the Father has this issue with people shortening his name he was reminded of this guy he knew in High School Freshman Year. He was a cool guy and his name was Shai, Apparently the Father asked this guy how he got a name like Shai and he informed him it was short for Jashaia. Fast Forward just over a Decade and both the Mother and Father agreed that Jashaia it was. Then they wondered if he was gunna like it and if other kids would be mean to him about it and if he would eventually get a gun and go teach those kids a lesson so the Mother and Father decided that if he didn't like his name he could go by Alexander, or Alex or even Shai even though the Mother and Father will always call him by him given name of Jashaia. Francine! I added Katharine as a middle name at my confirmation, because I didn't get a middle name at birth, and it really ground my gears. Also, my godmother is Catherine, and I was so appalled that I was lying in front of allll those people that I was ashamed to give my own name. I hated the name Francine, and for years I planned to change it, but by the time I was old enough, I couldn't do that to my mom, Frances, who had named me after her! Fannie you are NOT naming your daughter after a pron star!

First Name: Susan, I was almost named Rebecca, no offense to the Beckie's or Rebecca but that name would not have fit with my last name. I am usually referred to as Susan or Sue but I am a little old to be called Susie. Middle Name: Jo. I was named after my grandfather, Joseph, even though this sounds like I would be from the South. Last Name: Definitely French but I also have some German roots, too.

Take a good guess at what my first name is. It's Peter and the "jay" really stands for Joseph. I was named after an Italian Uncle with mob ties. They called him Pete the butcher. I don't recall him having a butcher shop. Most people call me Pete or Petie.

My name is Deanna. My parents' names both start with D and they wanted a D name for me as well. That was the only one they could agree on. I love it. There is at least one other Deanna on the boards here as well, but other than her I have only met a few Deanna's in my lifetime.
