Would the above scanrio from the OP have been more acceptable if he hadnt said "fuck" and had perhaps said "Shut up bitch?", or "Shut your stupid mouth?"

For me personally, two things, firstly delete the word “fuck” and secondly don’t personalize it then it’d be fine with me.  I’m no prude and have been known to swear with the best of them, especially when I’ve injured myself. However I do have a standard which of general conversation for home, public or with company in which such vulgarities do not get used especially the “F” word and the “C:” word. Just not done in polite company as my Mother used to say.  Just the way I was brought up. I am still quite capable of ripping a new arse-hole without using either word and I can be rather creative with my use of both Anglo-Saxon words and Australian phrases as well as describing someone’s ancestry. If I am out and such language is used it is nothing to do with me although if it gets a bit much I’ll steer ladies with me away or if I can’t, I’ll quietly suggest to the person using the language, that it may be time for him or her to cease and desist. As far kink clubs and functions goes, I’ve yet to hear such language used and I’m pretty sure that a goodly number would settle it down pronto.

I agree with those who said it depends on the context in which it's said as to what my reaction would be. If it's dismissive or cruel or nasty/angry, forget it, I'm done. Had more than my share of being told things like that in that context and won't tolerate it anymore, however, if said in the context where it's going to lead to play or wild sex, in THAT tone? Oh hell yes!!!

It is most definitely context for me.

I'd be more embarassed that I had inspired that sort of reaction from someone, than upset with them for voicing it.  I'd be more likely to be upset with myself, not at them.

I have to agree with others that it's all about the context in which this was stated.  I could melt from the hotness (if that's how it was intended), or I'd very likely respond as Winsome did, embarassed or upset that I had done something that would cause Him to speak to me that way.
